          A:  Difference between this Honeywell model 1104 & model 1114: 1. larger capacity -- (5.2 " more interior depth, 5.2" more width) 2. ironically, this smaller one weighs 12.2 lbs more than larger model 1114 (by 12.2 lbs) Off I go to buy the 1114.

                    Do not count on the handle!
                    It may be safe in a fire. It is very heavy and difficult to manipulate. There are no good spots to grip on the safe. After the handle came off (plastic pegs in plastic holes), it just wants to fall. This firesafe does fit under the bed.

                      This Honeywell 1104 is freakishly stout and there are several reviews on youtube wherein new units have been placed on a burning woodpile in full on hillbilly style. I believe they’re likely the best value for the money. If there were an aspect that merits mention it would be that you’ll want to make sure you’re aware of the weight before you place your order. Externally it’s the size of a briefcase but it definitely doesn’t carry like one.

                      I did not know I would need to open the safe once a week to air it out. Not a deal breaker but this should have been revealed during the purchase process. Although there is a handle to pickup the safe, there is no easy way to grab the top in order to open it. The top is very heavy and it is difficult to open it.

                      I like that it fits legal size documents as well as letter size. It’s a little on the heavy side but I like the 24 hour waterproof and the time that it will last inside of a fire. The plastic latches seem to be a little cheap but the mechanism to open them as sound.
