It is a White semi-gloss melamine-like surface that resists dirt and scratches. We can send you a sample if you would like to see the actual material please reach out to us at Sales@Paniflex.com with your info and we would happy to send you a piece. Thank you.
Question, Although we dont recommend it, you can cut the height and would be cheaper option than a custom door. Just make sure whomever does it is skilled and has the right tools. You will need to remove, cut, recreate the hardware preps with a drill bit, and replace the hardware on the top edges. Thank you
Demi, Im not sure what you are looking at but when I change it to the 90 x 80 size i can see bullet #3 claerly states he following-->Bi-fold is for a 90 in. W finished opening and is made of four 22-1/4 in. panels. Yes they are all on the same track generally speaking accross the opening but please be aware anything over 72" will be a 2 piece track due to shipping limitations.
Brandon, This is designed to fill your 48" opening with 2 hinged pairs if bifolds that open to each side and meet in the middle. These Bi-folds are for a 48 in. wide finished opening and is made of four 11-3/4 in. panels. I hope this helps. Thank you.
Shell, You can cut the height we dont recommend it since it voids your warranty but it would be cheaper option than a custom door. Just make sure whomever does it is skilled and has the right tools. You will need to remove the hardware on the top edges and bottom of the panels. make your cut and duplicate the preps with a drill bit and replace the hardware. You will also need to cut down the track any good hacksaw or a metal blade on a power saw will do the job. Thank you
Craig, Our hardware is proprietary and will not work wih the Johnson series you will find most others will not also. This is our least expensive door. The door are NOT pre drilled our handle is actually a wraparound that mounts to the back side. White and Primed are the same, not prepped. Also you will have a little extra gap at each side edge due to the slightly larger opening and many folks either leave it or cover it up with a simple quarter-round or square molding running from top to bottom. The benefit of the 48 over the 2-24's is that you will get a one piece track versus 2. The 2 will leave a small seam at the middle top.Thank you.
William, Our door are adjustable but thats out of the range. It sounds like you have a custom size and this unit will not fit in your opening out of the box. Please reach out to us at Sales@Paniflex.com if you are interested in seeing if we can get you the custom size. Thank you. Carlos
Rob Yes it can, we just suggest you rough up the surface with some sandpaper and then use a good quality primer and paint combo and roll it on with a foam roller. If its just a touch up you should be able to dab on some white semi-gloss paint in the area if you have gotten down to the MDF core. I hope this helps.
Jon, Many folks close this gap with a quarter-round moulding down each side of the jamb facing the front edge of the door. Is been done for many years to solve this problem and is a much less expensive option than a custom-sized door. Please feel to reach out to me at Sales@Paniflex.com if you have more questions on this method. Thank you, Carlos
