When this says glow can you elaborate. Do these rods glow in the dark or are they lighted?

    Answer This Question

These rods are photoluminescent only. This means they absorb light in brightly lit areas, and then give off a soft glow in dark areas. This helps in a dark unlit ceiling space or attic. No batteries so they are not very bright, but still much easier to see than an unlit stick.

The term "glow" is derived from our proprietary luminescent resin. The rods glow because of this but do not light up.

      Pretty rigid fish sticks
I have gone through many different sets as I run wire in my job. These are rigid enough to float across the ceiling, even when going 24'. I cannot speak for using them in a wall, maybe too rigid for that but the cheaper models/brands that are flexible work well for that and if you break one they are cheap and easy to find. I have plenty of those sets. I bought these for running wires across far distances of hard ceiling. They work and made in the USA.

This set of 1/4" glow rods was perfect for a cctv camera install, running cat6 wires through an attic space and stud walls. With the combination of short and long rods, I was able to get exactly as much length as needed for each pull. Depending on location, I both pushed a pull cord to an opening, or directly pulled a cat6 cable. I find wrapping pre-connected cable connectors with shrink wrap makes for a quick and simple method of pulling those cables without damage through insulation, and also helps prevent snags on rafters or other obstructions. Definitely saved hours of work by giving me the extended lengths needed for long runs, and the 1/4" rods are stiff enough to go straight over the long distances involved in this job. Remember, you will still need a more flexible smaller diameter set of rods if you will be needing to maneuver curved pulls. All depends on the specific job to be done. Good set of sticks.
