30 in. Double Electric Wall Oven Self-Cleaning with Convection in Stainless Steel

The owner is not able to change the oven light. The light is a sealed assembly that requires the entire double oven to be removed from the cabinet. The oven is big and heavy so this job requires two men. Then, surrounding metal panels must be removed before mating the connector. Once connected, the process is reversed to reinstall the oven in the cabinet. This has to be an intentional design decision because previous models allowed the owner to remove a lens then replace the bulb. If the mating connectors were accessible from inside the oven, then this would be an easy fix. My repair is under warranty but the cost has to prohibitive, because it requires two service men to make a house call, remove the oven and panels, install the new light then reinstall the oven. My new oven was delivered with a cracked lens. If fixed on the next visit, it will have taken three service calls to replace the light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We chose the KitchenAid suite for our new kitchen after having a competing brand previously. I was nervous to have an electric oven as I love the way my gas oven cooked. However these ovens blew me away with the evenness and consistency of baking! Cakes and cookies are perfectly golden and true to the recipes. It does take a tad longer to heat up, but worth it to know my food will cook perfectly. I especially love that the oven displays when it’s reached set temperature, so you can recall how long something has been cooking even without the timer! Both ovens are spacious and the controls are easy to navigate. Love the blue interior! They look sleek and high end, and have performance to support!

Overall they perform well. As a baker I rarely use the automated features so at times they are cumbersome to work around. After a year of use I have become accustomed to the oven temperatures not being calibrated with the display thermostat and rely mostly on internal thermometers to determine heat levels. Convection cooking does seem to be consistent on all levels when baking. Having two ovens I wish there were two timers. The racks slide easily and the ovens are easy to wipe out. There is some grime between the glass viewing panels, I haven't had to use the self cleaning mode to know if that will clean them or if the door will have to be dismantled to access the space.

I read the instructions on my new (December 2022) oven and set it to self-clean. One hour into the cycle I heard a loud crash and, once I was able to turn it off, saw that the interior glass had shattered. Thanks fully my children were not around to get injured!!

The keyboard short circuits anytime you roast something in the top. I roasted cauliflower or potatoes-the steam they generate knocks out the keyboard. We have had it “repaired” so often they told us just don’t use the upper oven. I effectively have a single oven - the top oven only serves to make my kitchen look fancy at this point. See what happens when I roast vegetables…this oven is garbage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our kenmore oven kept blowing the overheat breaker on the stove when in cleaning mode. Finally fried the circuit board, after removing, resetting breaker several times and then soddering the circuit board it finally fried the board for good so we gave up and bought this Kitchenaid oven. Leary about using the cleaning function. Jury still out. But so far so good.

These ovens have never worked correctly. I get the error codes as well and have already replaced the control panel. It now turns on/off, changes temps, turns lights on and off. It’s out of warranty period and they want to send a safety person to “diagnose” then I’ll have to repair it AGAIN. No thanks. Buyer beware, kitchenaid makes junk for premium price. I’m going to replace it with a cheaper version I used in a vacation condo. This one has ruined holiday and dinner events so many times

Worked less than one year and The thermal switch burnt out because of grease heat and smoke.

It did a beautiful job roasting the turkey and the temperature probe was really helpful and accurate. It’s very sharp looking. I’m so happy with it and glad we ordered direct from KitchenAid. Can’t wait to come back for a refrigerator!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With some loss of strength in my hands and back issues, the standard oven was just too low for me to confidently cook/bake knowing i had to bend over and lift. This DO has really given me my zest for cooking/baking back. It is much better pulling a turkey out of the oven when i am standing vs. bending. The capacity took all of the stress out of timing everything on Thanksgiving. The probe made sure the turkey was done and the digital display let me know the exact temp at all times! Baking cookies is so cool because i can have six baking trays in at once, which speeds up the process when i need to make a lot of cookies! The electric vs. gas has been a little tricky as the electric seems to run hotter than my gas. So i just knock off a few degrees and its just fine.
