Another great Klein tool. This screwdriver is an electricians best friend when working in live breaker boxes. The insulated shank prevents accidental shorts that in a high voltage circuit breaker panel could end in serious burns or much worse. This driver has the perfect head for reaching deep into a box to secure wires to circuit breakers and neutrals to ground bars. A must for any electrician's tool kit by the premier makers of hand tools.

This is a good driver when you need that bit of extra reach and are working in an environment where you need the insulation. I had a slightly shorter klein driver of the same series with the same tip. But this one gives me a little more reach. When you are working on something buried in a box this can be nice. The grip is a little smaller than my other divers but I presume that helps keep the size down a little while still giving the extra reach. You’ll get all the torque you need with the cushioned grip. It’s that grip on the klein drivers that makes them my favorites. It don’t hurt that they are built strong to hold up to the job. It’s a good combination of comfort and toughness. You just can’t beat these.

This is a nice insulated screwdriver, the tip seems to be made of good quality metal and does not deform or bend easily. The insulation on the screwdriver shaft is made of decent plastic and seems as it should hold up well. The handle has a nice feel and good gripping surface, I would have liked the handle to be just a little bit longer. The screwdriver tip is about 3/16" wide, the shaft length is about 7" and the overall is 10 1/2" The rubber portion of the handle is about 1 1/8" diameter and about 2 1/4" long. It says that it is insulated to 1000 volts (I didn't test that) It does say that it is made in USA! All in all I like this screwdriver and it seems as it will hold up well.

This 3/16 inch Klein insulated Cabinet Tip screwdriver is by every measure a top tier professional grade tool, produced by a company with a long history of commitment to maintaining their hard earned reputation for never sacrificing quality for profit, and never disappointing their loyal following of satisfied customers by producing a product that does not perform as expected. Like all Klein Tools, this one is designed and manufactured to deliver exactly the performance, life expectancy and the voltage resistance it is certified for over the service life of the tool. This particular Klein screwdriver is a “Cabinet Tip” design, which is in wide use in the woodworking and furniture trades as well as in both home service and commercial electrical and electronic equipment as well, where recessed machine screws are used to strengthen joints and connections and to conserve space. Many screwdrivers common to the home workshop, construction and engine repair trades are the familiar “Keystone” type, a name derived from the flared tips these screwdrivers have that resemble the classic Pennsylvania “Keystone” emblem. These screwdrivers will generally not drop into the narrow recessed screw holes common to electrical equipment, so you need both. Things I especially like about this excellent, tailored to the task tool from Klein, in addition to knowing I could not have done better in my selection, include the recessed exact size image of the tip found in contrasting color on the top surface of the grip, which makes it easier to retrieve the right one from your tool bag, the positive and firm grip provided by a just pliable enough rubber hand grip and the perfectly engineered and meticulously machined tip, that drops right into the slot on the screw head and takes a firm bite that is not prone to slipping out. This excellent insulated screwdriver is just one choice of many in the Klein Tools line of Screwdrivers and nut drivers, both insulated and traditional, so there is no need to compromise. They have, in so many categories, exactly what you need in a tool that will work as long and as hard as you do.

This tool is by design specifically intended to provide enhanced safety but never complete safety when working around dangerous household line voltage and even more dangerous High voltage electrical equipment that no untrained and unlicensed person should ever approach under any circumstances. Think of it as a no guarantee possible second chance if you make a mistake, and nothing more. That said, there are legions of homeowners and do-it-yourselfers who feel sufficiently competent in following the “instructions in the box” that they will continue to undertake home wiring projects. Safer tools make sense for them also. This Klein 3/16 inch insulated screwdriver, like all Klein Professional tools is Rolls Royce class, and it will serve you for years no matter how hard you and it work. It is a modified “Cabinet Tip” design, modified to the extent that unlike an uninsulated woodworkers Cabinet Tip screwdriver that follows the definition of having a shaft that is the exact diameter of the tip, to navigate into recessed screw holes, the electricians version, like this one becomes wider above the tip to permit the inclusion of a certified 1,000 volt electrical resistance insulating coating to reduce the chance of it coming into accidental contact with something energized inside a tight electrical box or even along a cable run with disastrous results if it causes a short circuit or transmits lethal current to the user. Never deliberately work on a live circuit or fail to confirm the power is off . Electricity is always looking for a way to hurt you. Things I like about this gem of a of a tool include the inclusion of a recessed exact image of the tip on the top surface of the grip, which makes it easier to fish out the right one from your tool bag, the power enhancing soft rubber grip that prevents user fatigue, and the precisely machined tip, that gives you a fast and positive grip on the screw head to prevent damage to the screw or the risk of having the screwdriver spin off and possibly disturb something it should not. This excellent insulated screwdriver is just one choice. Klein has a very extensive selection of both insulated and non-insulated screwdrivers and Nut Drivers specifically engineered for safer and more efficient electrical work, along with much more, ready to explore at Home Depot. You never have to compromise.

The Klein Tools 601-7-INS is a quality 3/16” slotted, precision machined, 7” insulated round shank cabinet screwdriver made for the professional for use in heavy-duty work applications. The overall screwdriver length is 10 1/2". It has a durable plastic handle with an extremely comfortable black rubber cushion grip. This cushion grip provides a great grip for added torque value and greater handling control when turning the screwdriver. I especially like Klein’s Tip Ident® feature where you can quickly identify, by pictorially showing a straight slot on the end of the handle to indicate the shape of the screwdriver tip, when reaching for it in your tool pouch. It also features a bright orange, double layer of hard plastic dielectric material covering that is rated up to 1000 volts over the entire 7” round metal shaft. As a result, it exceeds IEC 60900 and ASTM F-1505 electrical insulation standards so it gives you greater protection when working around live circuits. In addition, the bright orange color of the screwdriver shaft helps it to visually standout to locate it when using it in a working condition. Overall, this quality screwdriver meets or exceeds applicable ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) specifications. And best of all, I like that this screwdriver is made in the USA! Well worth the price and value!

This KLEIN TOOLS 3/16 IN. INSULATED CABINET-TIP FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER WITH 7 IN. ROUND SHANK- CUSHION GRIP HANDLE is a great addition to my toolbox. Most of the length of the screwdriver is insulated and the very end of the handle has a easy-to-see pictorial of what angle the flat tip is pointed in. This way when you are reaching back inside an outlet, you know where the tip is so you can match it up to the screw head. It also has a good feel in the hand.

Another excellent high quality tool from Klein tools that is Made in the USA. This well constructed tool made of high quality materials features a very comfortable soft handle as well as a long 7 inch reach. Even though its not made from metal, because it's insulated, there is no bend or give in its shaft because of its quality construction. I also like that the shaft is bright orange which makes it easy to identify. I anticipate that this tool will serve me well for many many years.
