Q:I have a 36" six panel door that the builder installed and want to replace it with the 36" Interior Rustic Knotty Alder 1 Lite Wood Door Slab in the existing frame. I am assuming that all 36" doors are fairly uniform and it will be compatible. Right?

These are 1-3/8 inch thick doors. They are nice and at a good price. Wish the thickness was in the description as I was replacing a 1-3/4 inch thick door. Had to change the trim and do some extra staining to get it right.

When one buys a product that costs several times what a typical generic door costs, he expects so...
When one buys a product that costs several times what a typical generic door costs, he expects something in return that makes it worth the money spent. This door was put together by the”B” team. It had been sanded with an orbital sander, nothing wrong with that, but with, perhaps, 60 grit paper in a couple locations to remove a blemish of some kind. As I attempted to sand out the old swirl patterns, in two places I had to just stop, as I was getting to the end of the veneer and could see the substrate material below. When the glass had been installed, one of the four stop mouldings that keep the glass in place had a large nick in it that couldn’t have been missed, but they went ahead and used it. Perhaps they missed seeing that because Another of the four stop mouldings was too long, but forced into place anyway, splintering it’s end. I’m a professional wood worker, and if there wasn’t a strict deadline on the installation of the door, I would have certainly rejected it. These problems are not the result of poor craftsmanship but of management that doesn’t care.

Doors seem to be of good quality. They did arrive a little banged up from the packaging and handling, but most of the damage sanded right out prior to staining.
