Great features

Very happy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My laundry smells so good and looks so clean with this machine, and time in the dryer is about 10 minutes shorter than with my old top loader. And it’s so much quieter. My only complaint is the ease with which the power can accidentally be turned on. I solved the problem by inserting a piece of cardboard behind the button.

I've had this washer for a couple of months. It replaced my HE Kenmore top loader that died. This is my first Maytag and my first front loader. I read a ton of reviews about a mildew smell developing and got some advice from women at work. I use a microfiber towel to wipe down the door and the rubber gasket for the door, including in the crease of the rubber gasket. I leave the door ajar. I have absolutely zero problems - no smell and the washer is FANTASTIC. Bonus: it tells me the number of minutes remaining until the cycle is complete. Love it! I don't think my clothes have ever been cleaner. I'm so glad I got a front loader and that I finally tried the Maytag brand. I got the matching dryer and this is a winning pair. Makes doing laundry a breeze. I actually look forward to it now. HIGHLY recommend this washer!

Things I didn't anticipate
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was the least expensive in its class. I did a lot of comparing. I've only used it 5 times. I find adding a garment to be awkward. Instructions say to pause it. There's no pause button, so I hit the power button. The cycle started over, and the items came out wet. So I had to put them into a spin cycle. The black door is a magnet for and shows lots of dust. Every time I walk past it, I wipe it down. It's by the back door so maybe that makes it worse. The black handle it is a well for dust and hard to clean. (Photo) For the price I imagine it's a good choice. I'd prefer a silver or white door with a clear glass. I realize the dust issue is superficial, but it's my shiny new expensive addition and I'd like for it to sparkle.

The washing machine is quiet and runs very smooth, even when spinning on high speed. The average wash time has been about 44 minutes for a full load. The machine is very efficient with water and detergent. Clothes are coming out perfectly clean. We are very pleased with this washing machine.

This has replaced my 13 yr old Maytag Neptune and the latest technology makes this unit simple to use. Only have had it for less than a month but we do a lot laundry with two teenage boys. One can customize each setting and it will remember that setting for the next wash. A lot of nice features. We bought the pedestal to match the height of the dryer and much nicer than the old.
