Product Details

Easily update your home decor with this Vintage Ruzafa Encaustic Porcelain Floor and Wall Tile. Each tile is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, floors and walls. The Grade-1 rated tile is impervious to water absorption of less than 0.5%.
  • 10.88 square feet, 16 pieces per case. Case weight is 44.8 lbs.
  • Grade 1, first-quality porcelain tile for floor and wall use.
  • 9.75 in. width x 9.75 in. length x 0.4 in. thick
  • Glazed, slightly textured finish with a low sheen and slight variation in tone
  • P.E.I. Rating IV has high resistance to abrasion and is suitable for heavy-duty residential and commercial kitchens, hotels, exhibition and sales rooms with some dirt conditions
  • Impervious tiles have a water absorption of less than 0.5% for indoor and outdoor use and is frost resistant
  • C.O.F. greater than .60 to .79 is required for commercial applications to meet or exceed ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Guidelines. Skid resistant. Indoor and Outdoor use
  • Completely frost resistant for indoor or outdoor applications; use a latex-modified thinset for acceptable bond strength
  • Commercial and Residential use
  • Don't forget your coordinating trim pieces, grout, backerboard, thinset, and installation tools

  • It is recommended you purchase a minimum of 10% overage to account for design cuts and patterns

        A:  Yes, you can use this tile in your shower.

          A:  Hi Rachel, Yes, our Vintage Classic would work great in a shower pan! This tile has a glazed, matte finish that will not absorb water through the glaze. If the background construction is waterproofed properly, this tile would be a great choice for a shower pan. This tile has a C.O.F. (Coefficient of Friction) rating of 0.6 to 0.79 which makes this compliant with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidelines for slip resistance. All C.O.F. means is how slip resistant a tile floor is; the higher the value, the more slip resistant the tile is. It also has a DCOF (Dynamic Coefficient of Friction) rating of 0.42. To be considered slip resistant for DCOF, a tile must meet or exceed the required rating of 0.42. If you would like to determine if either of these tiles are right for you, we offer samples at The Home Depot! Please be aware that samples come adhered to 3”x4” sample cards which offer a color and texture sample, not a look at the whole pattern https://thd.co/2nr4hPa. To be able to see the whole pattern, we recommend ordering one case. Please note that variation in color, shade and texture are inherent characteristics of glazed tile.               This Vintage Ruzafa encaustic tile by Merola Tile is just as pretty as some of the other Merola tiles I have gotten. I really think Merola makes beautiful tiles. This square tile is in the gray, black and white tones and has a muted, not a crisp look. It would look lovely in many different applications. If you look online, there are a lot of pictures of encaustic tiles. They have such a wonderful old look that seems to be very popular. I love the way some have mixed and matched the tiles on floors and walls. Mixed and matched, or using just one design, I don't think you will be disappointed about the looks of this tile.

                It is a lovely tile, with an interesting pattern. It has 3 shades of grey in the pattern. The description says black and white, but fortunately it is not as stark as black and white, but shades of grey. Porcelain tiles are my favorite, they last forever and have a texture that will minimize slipping. We picked this for a back splash in the kitchen. I haven't yet done the install, I'm waiting for a 3 day weekend to rent the wet saw.

                I wish I had picked this for my kitchen floor tile instead of laminate. This stuff is gorgeous, better in person than in the picture. It is a thick porcelain tile. It is not joke. They seem to be so thick that they could not easily shatter. And the pattern is so complex, and so well put onto the tile, it looks llke a high resolution picture, almost like it isn't real. But it is beautiful. After seeing how nice this is, my wife and I are going to re-do the kitchen, foyer, and powder room in this tile. It has such a high end look and feel compared to the tile we have in our foyer and powder room, but also very very high end compared to the laminate floor that isn't as indestructible as we were told it would be. Endless little holes have appeared, things aren't at all what we thought. I'm sure this tile would be a much better longer lasting product than laminates.

                I have looked at alot of tiles recently and this is one of my favorites. It has coloration thats very natural and mimics the cement tile look very well, honestly I can really tell the difference without turning the tile. I was set on cement tile but after sampeling some cement tile I realize the installation can be a bit more involved. This tile is great alternative, it has a low gloss finish with a lower absorbsion rate, making it more waterproof without sealing. It is has a great vintage pattern. This has a consistent thickness and one last important thing for me is this tile is DIY doable since its easy to score and snap.

                We love the design of these tiles. We needed two boxes to do our small hall area. These were easy to install as we removed a hall closet in our front hall way. We put down a piece of cement board as we had hardwood flooring, in the entrance as we needed a more winter friendly flooring. Love the finish on these tiles, they clean up easily and look amazing.

                I chose these Vintage tiles because I wanted something reminiscent of the 1930's as a tribute to my Father who was born in 1935. I can remember visiting aunts and my Nana and seeing those on the floor in the kitchen dining area in the Bronx here in NYC where I live and I searched for a long time. These were the hit. These were what I was looking for. They had superior quality than the old ones from the 1960's but the design is faithful to the original vintage tiles from my childhood. Highly recommend them High quality.

                The tile came packed extremely well so there were no broken tiles. Excellent quality porcelain and the design looks rich, not stamped on. You can see that the color tone of the tile is not a true gray. I would call it "greige". Very happy with this purchase for my bathroom renovation. Still needs to be grouted. Will submit an updated photo of the whole bathroom if I am able.
