A: You can't wash it unfortunately, but I found I could get it pretty clean using an air compressor (do it outside - it traps a lot more than you would think). You can also vacuum it out with a separate shop vac, but air compressor was always my preference.
A: I haven?t used my cord free yet so haven?t cleaned it. For others I have held them in a large wheeled trash container with cover closed as much as possible. I then tap and rotate the filter against the inside wall.
