Complete garbage, just a money maker for Milwaukee
Use it for edger but not weed trimmer. The quick load string trimmer head has a bump cap that will fail in just a few months and Milwaukee has gone the garbage route of not selling the 2$ cap. Instead they tell you to purchase a new head at 40$+. Pretty pathetic for a company that usually has good customer service but it looks like they are going to way of all other companies and just don’t care about their customers anymore. Was told echomatic pro head. pn21560031 fits and lasts.

            Milwaukee edger review
I purchased the interlock Milwaukee pole saw as well as the edger attachment which was a seperate purchase. Does the job well. This is my 4th Milwaukee purchase and 3rd for the M18 series. No more special fuel mixing. All battery powered. For light work 1 battery got my about 30 mins run time. It is recommendation you start off with 1 bateery but for heavy use more than an hour will need to consider purchasing another battery. In short, edger does work, plenty of power, no complaints.

This is a great trimming tool and it is super easy to attach and operate. At first, I was a bit intimidated by the size when attached to the M18 motor because it is taller than me and it definitely helps if you use this system along with some sort of harness to help distribute the weight more evenly. I cleared three times more overgrowth with this machine than my son did with a smaller model. There was no ‘bumping’ to advance the line and I didn’t have to interfere with the feeder spool the whole time I was using the trimmer.

This was a hard one to rate accurately, let me explain. First, it's one of the best battery trimmers I've used. That being said why didn't I give it a 5 for "Features?" Well if has some of the best features I've run across on a battery trimmer. The weight and balance are great. The design is as a "Yard Maintenance System" not just a string trimmer. This means there's a bunch of attachments that are interchangeable, you want to edge your yard? No problem, simply remove the string trimmer and add an edger attachment. The benefit of this is great. You can build your "arsenal" of yard tools in bite sized chunks. After the initial outlay for the system, the attachments are much less expensive that stand alone tools. Milwaukee's attachment system is the best one I've ever used, but it's this feature (along with the battery charger) that's a blessing and a curse. I already had an old gas trimmer that had a similar interchangeable system and I that I was going to be able to use may existing attachment collection with this system, but alas, that didn't work. Milwaukee's awesome and ergonomic attachment system keeps the attachment securely in place and it "snaps" securely in place, much better than the old style doesn't accommodate the old style at all. I have pole trimmers, tiller, edger, blower, hedge trimmer and was eyeing a power broom, but none of those are interchangeable. Milwaukee has a nice selection of the same attachments, but that means I have to start all over again. Replacing the string is pretty easy, as is maintenance. Time will tell how well it holds up. This spins up super quick and does a good job. it comes loaded with twisted string and cuts well. My only other issue is battery charging. It comes with a big battery, and if you use other Milwaukee stuff you may already have batteries that will work. The battery life is good, but charging took a good 40 minutes. So if you're trimming a big property, you better have a spare or plan a break. The unit feels good to use, I especially appreciate the large trigger, for whatever reason my last trimmer had a small trigger and I'd get a finger cramp, this one is a large grip trigger that' really comfortable to use for longer stints. Overall a nice quality system, be aware of Milwaukee specific attachment requirement when considering add-ons. It would be a great trimmer for anyone switching from stinky gas to battery. I love not smelling like gas when I'm done!

CORDLESS; EASY-TO-USE; QUIET — The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 8 in. Edger Attachment for Milwaukee QUIK-L...
CORDLESS; EASY-TO-USE; QUIET — The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 8 in. Edger Attachment for Milwaukee QUIK-LOK Attachment System is a pleasure to use for edging. Our previous edger was electric which meant we had to string extension cords, and not just any extension cords but 12/2 extension cords to keep the unit from overheating. Since the motor of this edger is in the base unit, the edger itself is lightweight. It has a blade ridge and slots in the mud flaps to help align the blade next to the solid edge. It may take a little practice to get a uniformly clean edge. The depth of the cut is easily adjustable by changing the height of the trailing wheel. Since the edger is open on one side, it is easy to clean after use. This attachment includes a scrench for changing the blade but the holding pin is included with the base unit rather than this attachment.

When I saw this Milwaukee M18 Fuel 16-in string trimmer attachment that would be using my M18 battery, I knew I had to snatch it up! After all, I already had the M18 high output battery and charger. The only thing I need now is the “tool only”. I now see the packages with the trimmer, attachment head, battery, and charger sold everywhere, but I really just need the part that runs from the handle up to the battery holder. Does anyone know what the item number/part number is for that piece? Once I buy that “tool only” to complete this package, I’ll update my review. The build quality of the trimmer attachment itself is top quality. Installing the line is a breeze and the trimmer attachment package even included extra line! The line spool can hold up to 25’ easily. Its winter now, but I can’t wait to use this when Spring finally arrives!
