Would this be good for picket boards
    ByJun 22, 2026
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Yes — the M18 FUEL™ 16-Gauge Angled Finish Nailer (Gen II) is an excellent choice for installing picket boards in most trim or fencing applications. It is suitable for fence face-boards, trim, and finishing — but not for heavy structural members (use screws there).

Is this nailer safe for panel or should I use straight nailer
        ByMay 4, 2026
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

Hi Gerald. The Gen II 16-Gauge Angled Finish Nailer is absolutely safe and effective for paneling. A straight Nailer offers a slightly more uniform nail angle on broad flat runs, but no difference in strength or safety, it’s mostly about access and finish alignment.

Is this a 21 degree nailer
          ByJan 16, 2026
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Gen II 16-Gauge Angled Finish Nailer is not a 21-degree nailer. It has a nail collation angle of 20 degrees, specifically designed for 16-gauge angled finish nails. For a 21-degree nailer, Milwaukee offers the M18 FUEL 21 Degree Framing Nailer (2744-21), which is specifically designed for framing applications.

Pop in the battery and you’re ready to go. I have pneumatic nailers and wanted to get a cordless. Unfortunately, I’ve been converting my all tools to Milwaukee which aren’t cheap. But the nailer itself is awesome and I wouldn’t go back. I did get the angled nailer but something to keep in mind, the nails for angles nailers are more expensive than flat nailers, and not by an insignificant amount.

Used it to install the trim in my house and it worked awesome. Have had it about a month but has been great so far.

M18 Fuel 16ga Angled Finish Nailer
I finally broke down and picked one up. Great addition to my 23ga pin nailer and 18ga brad nailer. I kept telling myself o can get by with just the 18ga but in some instances I did need a bit more hold than the 18ga brad especially doing baseboard trim & casing. I recently used it on a shed finishing up some trim and it locked it in place. I have all 3 nailers in a XL PackOut toolbox with an assortment of nails, nail set, and a pair of needle nose & nipper pliers.

Works well and did the job in which I bought it for. Gun did jam twice , but was easy to fix. Would definitely recommend this product. I have used other nail guns in the past, but nothing compares to this Milwaukee product. Far more convenient than a pneumatic nail gun. Loading the nails is simple and effortless. This gun is worth the money.

Powerful. Gets the job done. Took back 2 Craftsman nailers.

Need more info on type of nails in instructions.
I am retired tool and die maker , I do handyman work to keep busy . Have several PCs of Milwaukee tools . I have air nailers but wanted to try the Milwaukee angle nailer for easy and convenience, I am not familiar with an angle nailer , reviews said this one was the most versatile . So I purchased for a bathroom remold job , read instructions loaded straight nails and shot about 4 nails with each one jamming , I went back to instructions and went on line . No ware does it say to use angled nails or anything about them when you are loading . So I figured it out on my own that I needed angled nails , worked well with no jams on hanging ship lap . Box or instructions need info on type of nails , besides that it’s another great product from Milwaukee.
