I have a clay based soil structure and want to make a garden bed. Should I just mix this 1:3 with the soil or do I need some other soil mix or fresh top soil?

How many bags will I need for a 15 gallon pot?

Planting a fig tree
Asked by: sneal
The conversion is 7.48 Gallons = 1 Cubic Foot so 15 Gallons is almost exactly 2 CF but listen to the Scott's people and use something else for containers.

It was more like a bag of mulch than soil. The issue I now face is that my raised beds are growing mushrooms like mad. I had to remove most of what I added to blend with other soils and add more natural compost so that my vegetables would grow. I am fortunate I did not buy that many so I can consider this a ,essayed learn rather than a waste of money. The product is not that costly so I don't feel like I was taken advantage of, rather than just disappointed.

If you google "miraclegro fungus gnats" you will see that this is a major problem. The company is aware of the problem. They just tell you to put sand on your plant or repot it. I have an organic garden that I can't just repot. I will never use their products again.

I got talked into buying this for my vegetables by a Home Depot employee. I appreciated their help, but really at the end of the day I think you can just get non-organic soil and it will do the trick. If you are VERY organic conscious, then it is worth the price. If you just want to grow some herbs or veggies the non-organic will work just as well.

Northport NY store was handled by your associate Heather, who works at the customer service desk. She demonstrated the epitome of customer service even though she was finished working.

'thumbs up' It could be improved by having the bags seal better so there isn't stinky mud all over the outside of the bags. A guy has to have a large plastic bag to put over the dirt in order not to get stinky mud all over the carpet in a vehicle.
