Product Details

Drain light flows of excess surface water and block leaves and debris from infiltrating the pipeline. Use the 4 in. Round Drain Grate on patios, decks, and around pools to prevent costly water damage. Grate has an open surface area of 3.9 sq. in. and flow rate of 12 GPM. The 4 in. Round Grate connects to 4 in. Sewer and Drain (S&D) fittings such as an adapter to connect to drain pipe. The Drain Grate, also known as a drain cover, is made of high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) treated with UV inhibitors. For use in non-pressurized underground sewer and drainage applications; maximum working pressure of 5 psi. A:  This round grate is meant to go into a 4 inch Sewer and Drain fitting and not a direct pipe connection.

    So fair warning, i do not use these for the...
    So fair warning, i do not use these for the intended plumbing usage, but they are FABULOUS for what I needed them for. I use these in conjunction with the drain CAPS for scentwork with my dogs. The only trouble is the caps and drain grates dont always fit together perfectly so it's something a SNUGGGGG fit and other times really loose. But it's fine for my purposes. So while i have no idea how they work for their intended purpose, they are great for mine LOL!
