A:  No, this is for the male hose end. You need the female version to attach to the hose bib faucet.

A:  It does not. It is a “male” connection. A nozzle or trigger sprayer attaches to this connection.

            by|May 23, 2023

A:  No. This is the piece you would attach your sprayer on. For the faucet end you would need this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Orbit-5-8-in-3-4-in-Zinc-Female-Hose-Mender-56688/205585047

Easy to use and safe no shape edges
The hose mender I recently purchased exceeded my expectations. Its sturdy construction and easy-to-use design made repairing my hose a breeze. I was impressed by how effectively it sealed the leak, restoring full functionality to my garden hose. Overall, I highly recommend this hose mender for its durability and performance. It's definitely a must-have for any gardener or homeowner looking to extend the life of their hoses.

                  Junk.
I needed a longer lead in hose for my hose reel and I had an old hose laying around with some kinks in it. Went to the store and bought these fittings in male and female. Cut the hose to length and had a massive leak where the lead in hose entered the hose reel. The sharp edge on this male repair fitting sliced right through the brand new washer I'd put in the intube of my hose reel. Now I'm searching for solid brass fittings as this was the "best" on the shelf at Home Depot.

                    Poor quality. Do not buy!
All parts are cast aluminum NOT brass. The bolts striped the clamp’s threads while trying to squeeze the hose during assembly. The shiny gold hose end is a good clue that this cheap China item from Orbit is not brass and will fail. And it did

My old hose came with a husky nozzle that I was not able to remove so I wad to cut it off. This orbit allowed me to reattached a new nozzle to the old hose. Works well.

                      OK could be better
Fine except for one glaring defect - the screws are too short and you cannot screw both clamps together. Eventually I will see if I have a longer one, likely metric

                      Buy a brass one instead.
Corrodes in short order and galls to the mating threads.

I bought a half dozen of these and they corrode like there is no tomorrow (they should be made out of brass!)
I bought a half dozen of these and they eventually corrode like there is no tomorrow (they are made out of the wrong metal!) (See the photo I uploaded for the before and after comparisons!) The females are worse than the males because the females are two parts (they have to spin). The corrosion causes the females to always leak & then break at the neck well before the males. But both corrode like there is no tomorrow because it's simply the wrong metal. Sure, metal is better than plastic in a harsh sunlit outside environment - but it's still made out of the wrong metal. Why they can't make these out of brass is beyond my comprehension. Nobody cares about weight nor about the color - what we care about is that it works for more than just a year or two. On the plus side the heavy well rounded squeeze block is really nice and the metal screws grip well in the metal base. The lack of sharp edges is a huge plus over the hose clamp designs. I really like the clamps - and screws - which are fine made out of whatever metal they're made out of. But those good parts of the design are all for naught when the threaded part corrodes in just a year or two! Especially the female ends which always break at the point where it spins. And, trust me, it ALWAYS fails well before the supposed 7 year warranty lifetime. Save your receipts. I didn't. I should have. These all failed well before the warranty period. It's just a bad design. They can't help but fail. They should be brass. (See the photo I uploaded for the before and after comparisons!) Disappointing product
I'm thinking the positive reviews are not from people who tried to use this product with a 3/4" hose. First of all, the screws were overtightened at the factory. This gave me a sinking feeling from the beginning. Second, the screws aren't long enough to reach the female threads– so if you're able to get purchase on one of them, the other side is no longer parallel. I tried to use one of my own self-tapping screws, but it still looks terrible. Before I wrote this review, I went back outside and verified the product says it will work with a 3/4" hose. Nope. The whole reason I got this kit is because it looks better than a hose clamp and appears to be less likely to slice a finger. But a hose clamp it will be and this thing is going in the trash.
