Q:I have a post lantern saying 60 watts max. Is it safe to use 75 or 100 LED bulb in this fixture? Please respond to me in my email box
    by|Apr 4, 2022
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Yes - since LEDs are much more efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs, you should be able to use a higher wattage equivalent bulb. Just check that the actual wattage the LED bulb uses to make sure it does not exceed the maximum allowable wattage stated on the fixture

      Answer This Question

      A:  Yes you can.

      by|Apr 6, 2021

A:  I don’t see why not. Buy one and test it, if it doesn’t work return it.

        by|Apr 11, 2021

A:  These bulbs are not rated for outdoor use so they should not be used in an application where they would be exposed to water.

          by|Apr 5, 2021

A:  Yes, I don't see why not. I've been using a Philips Hue light bulb outside for the past 4 years in temps ranging from 110ºF to -2ºF and it's still working fine, so a regular Philips LED bulb should be just fine.

            by|Apr 5, 2021

A:  Unless the box clearly states :”Indoor/Outdoor” it is not designed to work outdoors.

            by|Jan 26, 2021

A:  Not that I can see. I don't know why LEDs would.

            by|Nov 16, 2022

A:  No - there are no oil, fluid, or hazardous materials in this LED bulb.

I bought these bulbs because they are shorter than other brands. In other words, they’re less visible hanging in our bathroom globes.

I bought a total of 6 boxes (24) from home depot. So far they are not holding up. 3 of the bulbs did not last for more than I day. I thought Philips was a good brand but I found out they are junk! Do not waste your money!

These bulbs appear to be pretty close to daylight temperature. Much nicer light than than incandescent bulbs. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is that some of the bulbs are slower to start than others. The only time you will notice is when you have multiple lights on a single switch. It's a little jarring but you just need to match the bulbs and put the slower ones in a lamp. Keep in mind, we are talking milliseconds but still noticeable.
