Q:Is this what you use to connect a wall oven to Aluminum wiring?
by|Nov 9, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Yes, most oven supply wiring is aluminum due to cost. These are code approved for copper to copper, copper to aluminum, or aluminum to aluminum connections. They are pricey, but for connections of dissimilar metals they are the best way to go.

One of my works HVAC Techs recommended this brand for wiring an outside AC unit condenser. I was trying to track down a short cycling issue with my AC unit. This didn’t fix that issue but it was a clean installation. I wish I could have found the one that has 2 ports instead of 4. They call them monkey butts because that’s what they look like. It would have eliminated 2 rubber plugs.

I bought these to use with a heater that had aluminum wire not tinned copper wire. For the price the heater cost, they should have had a contactor for the connection. These worked perfect for joining 8 AWG to the 10AWG aluminum.
