About This Product

Have a high ceiling basement with a 4 in. Dia support column over 8 ft. tall that needs to be covered. We have a solution for that too. Columns over 8 ft. will require the addition of this 4 ft. Wrap Extension made from the same premium oak material as our standard length 8 ft. Oak Wrap. We recommend purchasing our Oak Pole-Wrap Drink Shelf as well to hide the joining seam and add functionality to your beautifully finished column. Simply cut the length and W of the Extension to cover your column under the desired height of your Drink Shelf. Then cut and add the standard 8 ft. Wrap to cover the rest of your column to the ceiling. Oak Cap & Base trim is optional and sold separately.

Highlights

  • Use to add up to 4 ft. of length to standard 8 ft. wrap (sold separately)
  • Use this 16 in. W and cut to cover for 4 in. Dia column
  • Premium red oak veneer on 1/2 in. wide panels for finest appearance
  • Installs quick and easy with construction adhesive (e.g., liquid nails - not included)
  • Can be stained or just use polyurethane to bring out natural wood beauty
  • To hide joining seam, install oak drink shelf (model 85DS40)

Questions & Answers

We are redoing the paneling in our houseboat it could potentially get moisture on it from a wet bathing suit leaning against the wall etc. Also Could be exposed to fairly warm temperatures during summertime. Is mold or warping a possibility?

1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Pole-Wrap is a wood product that can be protected from the elements of boating by caulking and finishing with marine products, either paint or clear coat. However, there may be better products for these boating applications. Teak wood and vinyl should also be considered.

If I am using this on a flat wall, can I use a brad nailer instead of liquid nails and what kind of trim would be recommended for the top if only covering 3/4 of the wall height?
          ByNov 4, 2024
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

A brad nailer is commonly used instead of paneling adhesive, and we have not heard of any problems with this type of installation. Top trim would depend on the theme and type of room design. A simple thin moulding is often best.

What tools needed to cut this product?
            BySep 25, 2024
            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

Pole-Wrap is easily cut to size using both a utility knife and fine tooth saw blade for wood. Cut vertically by running the utility knife between the grooves. Cut horizontally with a hand saw, or by rolling up the product and cutting with a chop saw.

I want to cover my louvered closet doors with this product. Do I need to use hardboard so the doors are totally flush or can I just use liquid nails around the perimeter to fasten them to the door.
                BySep 9, 2024
                1 Answer |
                Answer This Question

You might want to consider applying adhesive over some of the louvers to hold Pole-Wrap flat against them and prevent buckling.

I used this as an accent on the wall behind my bathroom vanity. Cut it easily with a chop saw to size, used liquid nails to adhere it, and sealed it with clear poly. It looks amazing. So easy to use and such a huge impact!

We used this some what unconventially as we did not wrap any poles with it. Instead, we used it to trim the sides of our chest of drawers. It looks great and was easy to work with. You can cut it to length, by rolling it and using a miter saw. To cut to width, we run it across a table saw and/or just used a sharp blade at the seams

I was debating on either staining or just leaving natural and sealing with poly. I tried the stain and it didn’t come out the way I was hoping so I left it natural and sealed it in a satin finish. Turned out beautiful.

Pole wrap 96”x48” oak basement column cover
Oak wrap arrived enclosed in plastic bag inside box. Removed from plastic placed on floor observing small flying leggy bugs crawl out between wooden slats . Observed for few mins confirmed bugs came from inside the slats from backing foam. Can anyone identify bug and advise what to do if any flew into my house .

Awesome product. I love the way it wraps and you don’t have to glue it. I used small brads to apply it around my Island and if it needs cutting you can use a good razor knife. I can’t say anything negative about it. I put on by myself and would buy it again.
