    Answer This Question

A:  Hello Deane, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the loose black inlet port on your vacuum's drum. We understand that this can be quite frustrating, but we're here to help you resolve this issue. To re-install the inlet port, please follow these steps: 1. Remove the powerhead from the vacuum. 2. Take a close look at the inlet port and locate the "keyway" and notch. 3. Line up the keyway on the inlet with the corresponding notch on the drum. 4. Apply firm pressure and push hard from the outside of the drum to insert the inlet port. 5. As you push, you may notice that the tabs on the inlet will flex slightly before clicking into place (you may or may not hear this happen). If you have any questions or concerns, you may call Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or send us an email at info@ridgidvacs.com and we’ll be more than happy to assist you. A:  Hello ted w, Thanks for your inquiry about our product. To remove the filter, take the lid off the drum and turn it upside down. Hold the rubber tabs on top of the filter with both hands and put your thumb on the ball stud in the center. Lift up on the rubber tabs while pushing down on the stud and the filter will snap out. Slide the filter off the cage. Carefully slide the new filter over the cage and press down on the outside edge of the filter until the rubber gasket on the bottom of the filter seats securely around the base of the filter cage and against the power head assembly. Great vac for the car. I recommend buying the Crevice Tool as well if you plan on buying this vac for your car that is sold separately but worth it.

Serves my needs In several ways!!
I purchased this Ridgid 9 gallon vac to use for cleanup of dog hair and clippings from when I groom my dogs at home. It definitely did the job, and quickly. I was using my regular vacuum, but it gets clogged up in a hurry and doesn't pick up all the clippings. This Ridgid vac did it quicker and left the floor cleaner. Just to see how powerful the 4.5 motor was, I took the vac to the garage and put the hose on the other outlet, and proceeded to blow out all the dirt and debris on the floor. WOW!! This sure beats sweeping (which is a lot more difficult to do from a mobility scooter). Haven't tried it on water yet, but I'm sure that day will come. [ I know the caption shows a 6 gallon vac, but when I was registering it online, there wasn't an option for the 9 gallon so I had to push the 6 gallon to make the registration complete]. Being able to store all the attachments right on the vac itself really saves space too. Definitely worth getting for many uses!!

This is a great product! I also have a 12 gallon RIDGID vac which we use for outdoor work, have had that one for 15 years and no problem! This smaller version exudes with plenty of power, mobility, and ease of cleaning! We gave away our Dyson, Kirby, and Rainbow vacs, after we chose wood floors and tile rather than carpet (which is really unsanitary), and decided to try the smaller and actually more efficient than the others! My hat is of to RIDGID! Great product!

I bought this to clean up some saw dust and staples in my garage. I wanted a smaller cleaner so it would not take up a lot of storage space and thought this would be sufficient for that job. What a disappointment! I was expecting this to be more powerful than my house vacuum cleaner. It had horrible suction and did not pick up the dust well. I had to directly hold the hose over each staple for 5+ seconds which was more tedious than sweeping. I ended up returning it. (This small section of floor took 5 minutes to vacuum with this wet dry vac. As you can see, still staples and dust.)

Has been a reliable wet-dry vac for me
I've owned this for a little over a year and I've been happy with it. I work on my car in the garage very often and this as been my main vac. I've been happy with it and can honestly say the suction power is plenty for my needs. Though, if you're doing heavy-duty work you may want to upgrade to a more power model. My only complaint is that the lid has popped off a few times while moving it around causing dust and debris to fly around. I wish it would stay on better!

                    Excellent for Wet Carpet If...
I bought this vacuum after reading the reviews and went for it, I came into work this morning only to discover a few ceiling tiles down and huge wet spot, with the middle of it being sopping wet cause of the constant dripping from the leaky roof over night....so.....right of the bat I knew that the provided attachment would NOT do the job simply because its designed for general debris, not carpet or any other "flat" surface where maximum suction is needed...so...I ADDITIONALLY purchased the 3 piece adapter ( $9.99 ) that would allow me to use my regular house hold vacuum attachments, instead of purchasing the "wet" tool that they sell, it's flat but it wouldn't have worked to my purposes as I needed to get into small and tight spaces (like under the baseboard heater), so....I paired it with my regular crevice tool and it worked just as planned, resulting in almost no loss of suction, and rapidly and adequately removing all the excess water of the carpet....NOTE....to achieve maximum suction I rolled masking tape around one of the adaptor pieces as my crevice tool left a 1/8 of an inch gap (see pic)

                      No instructions for parts installation
Bought the machine on Thursday and it has great suction. But there were no instructions about how to install the rollers. Do I push the rollers into the plastic feet until they click in? Use a rubber mallet? There were no screws included for the handle.
