Surprisingly good
Used this for ice fishing. Worked great with a 8 inch and 6 inch auger. Was able to drill plenty of holes for the day with the included 4.0 battery. Eventually took it back because I couldn’t commit my whole power tool collection to the ryobi system. It seems there just isn’t enough brushless one+Hp tools offered yet. I bought Dewalt xr tools at the end of the day, but overall I was very very happy with this drill. It’s a great choice for less money.

Wow so much power in my hands
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great tool for that job needing stronger torque and a lasting charge

      Love this drill
This drill is versatile, tough, and effective!! The battery and charger are not included, but it was very easy to purchase separately. This drill is heavier than my old cordless drill but that one wasn't a hammer drill. The hammer feature is very powerful! I used mine to drill large holes into some stumps in the yard that I'm trying to get rid of and it handled this job fairly easily with the hammer setting on 2. Setting 2 spins super fast and setting 1 spins slower. You can't adjust the torque on the drill or the hammer setting it's only low, or high. The drive feature has 22 torque selections as well as low and high settings to meet your needs from delicate to heavy-duty. I drove screws into my wood deck with ease! This drill has a comfortable grip, the chuck worked easily to change the bits and the battery pops in and out with ease! I'm looking forward to using this drill more!! It's really a great cordless drill!!

      Powerful
I have a couple of Ryobi ONE+ tools and two batteries and I have been happy with their performance. I ordered this hammer drill to work with the batteries I have. I was surprised on how much power it had. I used it to drill holes in a cement fountain base that I wanted to turn into a planter. The cement was thick but it drilled quickly through it with a mason bit. There is a LED light on it really sheds light on the work area. I like the magnetic strip to holds screws/bits and the bit holder to be able to switch out bits quickly.

      Powerful little hammer drill
Ryobi cordless 1/2 inch hammer drill. This half inch drill has a cordless chuck, two speeds, and straight drill (with torque adjustment) or hammer drill function. This particular model does not come with battery and charger, but is a great addition to my couple of compatible 18-volt Ryobi tools. The side hand grip handle is removable when you want use the drill for simple drilling, but is very helpful for hammer drilling. The built in light is very bright and helpful. Using the hammer drill setting and a masonry bit, it made quick work of drilling through brick and mortar, where without the hammer action, the process would have taken a lot longer. I’m really happy with this battery operated drill.

      Powerful! Light Weight! Durable!
I really enjoy this drill. The drill is a beast and gets the job done really easily. The brushless motor is powerful. I used it to drill holes in a cinder block wall so that I may hang a slat wall. The drill worked as it should with ease. Adjusting the speed, switching the direction of the nose rotation, removing and locking the battery were all done with little to no effort. The best part is that the drill is easy to hold. It fits as if it were made custom for my hand. It was super lightweight and I had control of it the entire time. Overall, its an excellent drill that you cant go wrong with. RECOMMENDED!

      Powerful Hammer Drill
My garage is full of Ryobi products and I love just about every one of them. I have been using the older model of this for a few years and haven't had any complaints. I wanted to see what technology had changed so I decided to pick this one up. As with the old one, this is a great and reasonably priced option. The only two differences I could find is the selection for hammer and drilling was moved from the top of the drill to being on the clutch rotator and they removed the magnetic screw holder. The movement of the selector is a nice touch and is a bit quicker than the old switch. But I hate they got rid of the magnet. It was such a useful thing to have. This will drill a hole in just about anything and is a pleasure to use. Good size and weight as well.

Long Review; Major Improvement Over Previous Model
I have owned two previous generations of Ryobi Drill Drivers, but this is the first with hammer drilling capability. Each generation has been a major improvement over the previous one. Torque seems improved but the chuck is improved significantly. You can feel the locking action of the clicks at the end of tightening like more expensive drill drivers. The knurling on the chuck gives it a better feel as well. The drill is shorter but slightly taller than the second-generation Ryobi (see photo). It makes for a better ergonomic feel in your hand besides allowing it to work in slightly tighter quarters. Speed control with the trigger is good and it seems easy to me to control low-speed screw driving and drilling. This also helpful when drilling through a variety of wood species and aluminum versus steel versus plastic. The torque limit numbers are easier to read on the ring behind the chuck too. I own a high-end drill driver as well as this compares favorably at a lower price point. Pros may still want to go with the more expensive equipment, but the improvement make this a player in the Pro field as well in my opinion. Unlike some drill add-on handles, this one clamps around the body versus screwing into the side. It clamps on easily but does sometimes take a bump on the handle to free the handle was the screw clamp is loosened. I found the handle useful not only when hammer drill brick, concrete paver and tile but also when using hole saws. See photos for examples of drilling through a variety of materials with a variety of bits (Forsner for hinges, masonry bit, Kreg pocket screw bit and bull-dozer 3 inch hole saw as well as 1-3/8” diamond bit for tile granite, etc.) I believe there was an improvement in drilling speed and accuracy in all cases when compared to my second-generation Ryobi. The second handle is almost a must for safely drilling large holes with hole saws that can bind and possibly even break an arm. All in all, this is a major upgrade for Ryobi at an attractive price point. Serious DIYers will like the improvements in my opinion. Consider that I still use my first-generation Ryobi drill driver and impact driver along with my second-generation set to avoid having to switch drill bits or driver bits in some situations. I have owned the first-generation set (blue in color) for more than a decade and tackled quite a few projects with them including driving hundreds of backer screws and deck screws and they still work well but the feel isn’t as good as this new unit. By the way, no drill driver will make up for dull drill bits driver bits that have seen better days. And knowing which speed to use for various operations is important as well. Consider this when evaluating your new Ryobi hammer drill.

I never had/used a hammer drill before so it was a learning experience but this Ryobi brushless tool worked great and I was able to easily complete my small job. I needed to insert 4 expansion anchors into a paver to secure a lightpost for our small dog run and this made the job much easier. It worked very smoothly, quickly and had no problem making the holes into the concrete. The included side handle gave me extra support and the task was completed in little time. This will come in handy for many jobs around the house since I like to do things myself when I can especially for very hard surfaces like concrete, metal and hard woods. There is a quick mode selector for drill or hammer mode and a 2 gear train mode for low/high. You change the torque by rotating the adjustment ring and push the tab button for direction of rotation. It is compact enough to fit into a tool drawer or tool box and is brushless for for high performance. Overall this will be a very useful tool that I will be using over and over again.

RYOBI ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Cordless 1/2 in. Hammer Drill (Tool Only) is another great tool to add to my Ryobi family and for anyone to have in their tool chest. The drill comes complete with handle, that is ambidextrous, meaning it can be located on the left or right of the drill. It simply fits over, and then you tighten the handle and it is secured. The motor in this drill is brushless. Ryobi says that it provides up to 29% faster drilling speed and can produce up to 750 in-lbs of torque. The drill is rated to be used on wood, brick, concrete, or concrete block. The drill has two speed zones: 0-500, and 0-2100 RPM. The chuck is 1/2 inch and ratchets. It has 24 positions to accommodate your needs. The base is also equipped with a very bright LED work light. The unit is made in China and has a 3 year warranty. All Ryobi One+ batteries fit this drill. Overall, I am very happy with this drill. It performs well, and should be welcomed into your tool kit. Thank you Ryobi for allowing me to try your product. Thank you Home Depot Seeds for offering this product to me.
