A:  From what I see, 1-piece forged 15-tine tempered-steel rake head I have had this rake for about 6 years. Replaced a very old one. It is a very durable rake. Have had absolutely no problems with strength. Hopefully, this will help.

              Broke during first use.
The steel rake broke while I was smoothing out dirt on my front yard. Not a professional quality tool whatsoever. I was hoping to get a quality made in the USA tool. I did not.

Between this garbage and worse garbage....
This rake has potential to be decent, and given the only choices that Home Depot seems to offer on any product in the store anymore is garbage and even worse garbage, this is the lesser of the trash that they had to offer. It truly should not be that hard to secure a rake head to a handle but apparently this is a difficult task for Razorback as this is the third one I've had fail in mostly the same manner, of course most of them I got more than six months out of.

                  Can not warranty.
The rakes work well for the first few months but always seem to break after about 6 months of use if not sooner. If you are thinking of buying because you think it is a high quality product with a great warranty, just know they are almost impossible to warranty.

Don’t count on the lifetime warranty!
The second time I used this rake, it broke on both ends of the tines (obvoius defect). The company refused to honor the lifetime warranty because I no longer had my receipt from HD. It had been over 90-days since purchase, so I couldn’t return to the store. I definitely wouldn’t recommend the rake, or anything else manufactured by this company!

                      Wooden handle inside of CPVC
This rake is essentially a regular wooden rake with a fiberglass reinforced CPVC tube around the outside. This picture is after 6 years of maintaining my property, 1 1/2 acres and a 1/3 acre garden.

                        Don't waste your money
I was given the Razor-back Professional Bow Rake as a house warming gift a few weeks ago by a family member. I used the rake 2 times before the head detached from the handle. The stickers on the side said it had a Lifetime Warranty on manufacturer defects so I called the company to submit a claim, but there were no options for speaking to a person. The automated system just directed me to the website regarding warranty information. So, I went through the online process and the website wouldn't allow me to submit a picture of the broken rake because the file was too large. I took the picture with my cell phone. So, I suited one claim without a picture then resized my picture and submitted another claim. They said they would respond in 2-4 weeks. I do not recommend this rake. I have no idea if their other tools are as poorly made as the rake, but given my experience so far with the quality of this tool and how little the company seems to stand behind it's products I won't be using any of their products in the future.

Broke after less than an hour.
"Pulverized tough soil." Yeah, this thing broke after less than an hour trying to spread some gravel. The "weld" connecting the tines to the mount snapped almost immediately.

                            Razorback Rake
Used this take a couple of times and it already separated from where the rake and handle meet. Warranty has a lot fine print. Sad I really like the look I have the pointed and the flat shovel I didn’t want to miss match. So hoping the other tools won’t be as weak.

broken, received replacement, added epoxy to weak areas
Like others have mentioned, inside the steel collar ferrule there is a piece of wood that holds the entire thing together, and it is prone to rotting. Mine rotted out and the rake fell apart. To their credit, Ames sent me a new rake after I sent pictures, and it was a pretty easy process overall. I do have the new rake now. To help prevent the rotting though, I filled the entire cavity inside the ferrule with epoxy strengthened with silica (I used total boat 2:1 high performance epoxy, and their silica thickener). I hope that this helps it to last this time around, as I do leave the rake outdoors. Overall though, I wouldn't expect this rake to last as you get it from home depot (I'm not even sure how much the epoxy will help at this point), but for the price, I suppose it isn't terrible. The picture I added is AFTER I put in the epoxy, so don't expect it to come this way, this is just to show you what I did.
