About This Product

Clover is an important part of having a green, low-maintenance lawn that doesn't need a lot of water. Clover's deep roots help your lawn stay greener, longer during short-term drought conditions. Clover also self-fertilizes when you return the clover clippings to the lawn after mowing - meaning less work for you. Scotts Turf Builder Clover Lawn is specially formulated with Strawberry Clover to establish fast and help your lawn thrive. Set your mower to the lowest setting and cut entire lawn before applying this product. Use a Scotts spreader to apply clover seed over existing lawn. Water two time daily to keep the soil surface wet for the first two weeks. Clover will begin to grow in 5-7 days. Once your clover is fully established, mow and return clippings to your lawn for a natural feeding. One 2 lbs. bag of Scotts Turf Builder Clover Lawn covers 1,000 sq. ft.

Answer This Question

A:  I wish you would answer the question and not refer me to your Scotts company hotline. I found the answer somewhere else instead of you providing the answer. It's Strawberry Clover that grows to 8-14" Height, which is not a good choice for a no mow yard.

      Answer This Question

A:  Scotts Turf Builder Clover Lawn Seed is not treated with any pesticide or other coating. If used in a grazers area, there should be a mix of grass, clover and other edible vegetation.

            (Green) Thumbs Up!
Scattered this in bare areas of my yard and one week later clover started poppin’ all over. Grows slow but steady, I am about a month in now and it’s really filling in nicely. Good stuff.

            Fast!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Laid the seeds out and within a week we had clovers growing. We had a bald spot that for some reason would not grow grass. After following step by step instructions I started to see a big difference. We had some rain a few days within first week so that helped with watering, but by end of week we had clovers.

Grows fast and looks so green
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This year, due to weather conditions, the grass didn’t look as nice. This Clover Lawn is a very affordable and easy way to have a green looking lawn with minimal effort. I noticed it grows pretty fast. It filled those dry areas quite nicely and my yard looks so much better.

Great filler, comes up fairly fast
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had lost a lot of grass in our yard over the years, between the electric company and gas company digging up our yard, to heat and kids playing, we wanted something that didn’t need a whole lot of care so we figured clover would be perfect as it spreads nicely and it looks nice and green and blends in well when cut. I was surprise on how small the bag was for so much coverage, but when you see how tiny the seeds are a little bit goes a long way and clover kinda spread out when it grows so even a small bag will cover a large amount of space. The first week is really most of the care the clover will need, as it will need to be water twice a day, I personally picked a week where it rain all week to through it down so it would stay moist and not dry out. I was surprise how fast this came up, while the package state five to seven days ours starting sprouting in about three, most likely because we had a good mix of sun and rain when we planted. After a week or two it’s still gradually spreading and hopefully before it hits the first frost it will have a good amount of coverage but needless to say I’m pretty happy with the result and will definitely get more when the spring hits to get any extra coverage we might need next year and to fill out the lawn a bit more.

Super easy to spread seed, and is growing beautifully all over. Is exceeding my expectations in the shady areas, which I’m very happy about because otherwise it’s just a muddy area.

                  Scotts Clover Lawn discontinued?
I bought Scotts Clover Lawn 2lbs bag and applied to my lawn. The clover did not grow is some spots. In the spots where it grew looks really nice. I would like to buy and apply one more time. I cannot find it any where. Is this product discontinued?

Best lawn ever for Central Oregon! We live in the southern part of Central Oregon....need drought resistant ground cover and this fits the bill.

Definitely did not work in Jax, Fl. I tried two applications cause the first one didn’t take so I did it again weeks apart and still nothing. I ended up having to buy crappy St Augustine sod instead. Not worth the money.

Response from Scotts Consumer ServicesApr 20, 2023
We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Clover Lawn and appreciate your feedback.

Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times per day to keep the seeds moist, until seed germinates.

We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 877-220-3089 if we can further assist. Scotts
