          Success!
After killing off the existing lawn, I laid down these seeds on October 4. I saw sprouts on around day 6. By October 21, it was filling up nicely. Fast forward to March and my lawn is looking beautiful. It took some work and lots of patience but the end result was very rewarding.

Pacific NW Grass Seed Mix Grows & Builds Turf!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Pacific Northwest Mix grows well in the climate I live in. The Pacific Northwest has wet winters and my area has lots of fir trees which shade my lawn. Its great to find grass seed that is designed to flourish in these conditions.

Not seeing very many Seeds germinate after a week
Bought three 20 pound bags to cover my yard after a leech field replacement. Been almost a week and very few seeds have germinated so far. Raked everything before and after seeding. Tried calling Scott’s this morning and after 30 minute hold time I hung up. I’ll just consider this a wash. If I get some growth I’ll update this post. At 80 bucks a bag I expected more.

We are sorry you did not get the results as expected. This can happen when the temperature was not ideal and not enough moisture for seedling to grow. Scotts

Since I live in the PNW, I wanted to make sure that the grass seeds we were putting in our lawn would be the most successful. So if you live in this area, I would very much highly recommend this product. We followed all the instructions on the bag in regards to watering, purchasing lawn starter, purchasing fertilizer, and a seed spreader. Since we bought our new home this year, we learned that our lawn has not received the love over the years that it should get, and we did not water it ourselves over the course of the summer. I didn't have an aerator on hand but I did have a bow rake to get as much dead grass out as I possibly could. It left a lot of open dirt areas as a result, and we applied all the products liberally over the troubled areas. We had great success a month later with religious watering (10am and 5pm every day unless it rained). I would also highly suggest using Scott's "My Lawn" app to keep tabs on rainfall vs. how much you water. It is October now and our lawn is greener than it ever has been and we (and our HOA) are loving it.

                  Good seed for Oregon weather
Tore out old sod lawn, and did new seeded lawn with this Pacific NW blend. It germinated quickly ( majority of it ) and has been thickening up nicely over last few weeks. This was my 4th mow today, at 6 weeks since seeding. I put some ammonium sulfate on it at about 4 weeks, and it has REALLY taken off/ GREENED UP since then!! Super GREEN!

                    Very happy with my lawn
I started my yard project in April. I used moss out first to kill the moss in the yard. I rented a power rake and a core aerator from homedepot to prepare my front lawn. The law was patchy, had lots of moss and weeds, and a thick layer of thatch. The ground was hard and had an old thick root system. After using the aerator, I moistened the ground and spread my FIRST layer of seed to take advantage of some rains coming up. I then spread 2" of Tagro (Tacoma,Wa waste treatment/compost dirt) on the entire front yard, spread ANoTHER layer of seed, then raked the seed into the new earth. I made on main mistake while watering. I only watered once per day. The bottom layer of earth stayed moist, but not the TOP 1" which is where the seed germinates. So I lost a portion of sprouts due to this. Luckily those were from the FIRST layer of seed and I was able to make up for it with the second layer. I am not a lawn person and did not do this perfectly. I have bare spots, but they are still filling in and I STILL have seeds germinating at this time (June 6). The grass is growing in very thickly and is extremely green. Some seeds have taken 30 days to sprout, others started between 7-14 days. I have been picking weeds out of the yard by hand, have used a weed wacker twice and mowed once so far. Some of the grass you will see in the pics is from previous grass growing extremely well, but most is from the grass seed. When you see my neighbors lawns you get an idea what mine looked like before.

Store display had a price of $57 for the bag i bought. Yet I was charged $92. Feels like a bait and switch to me. Applied the seed to my lawn, now 2 weeks later, no new grass.
