In shopping for similar diverters, it seems that they all are mostly plastic. Since that was the case for some priced at twice the cost of this, I decided to try it. It went on with no trouble and now holds a non-Speakman handheld shower. It's modern and attractive. Recommended. I do have a Speakman handheld in a different bath and it's excellent.

Very nice, precise action. Diverts 100% of the water, instead of 95% like so many I’ve tried. Holds my Speakman handheld nicely, as well.
