Q:What type of gasoline is best used in this unit. I have available regular unleaded with 10% ethanol 87 octane and non ethanol 94 octane?
      by|Apr 3, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  we recommend using quality 2 cycle oil to ensure that the engine operates correctly throughout the life of the engine. Use unleaded regular gas only so the 87 octane will be just fine .

          Great Value
I bought it on sale so it was an incredible purchase. At regular price it may be average. It starts and works well so far. Not so powerful that it’s difficult to use but will work great for 4x4 post. The 6” diameter auger is perfect for fence post along with the length of the auger. Feels like a decent tool and value.

Excellent product. Made holes quickly and easily. Cut through roots with a little extra effort. The only thing that stops it is rocks. Great product for the price. I made 20 holes to wood posts in for a vineyard and it took only a minute or two a hole.

            EASY TO USE
I was skeptical about buying and using this machine because where I needed to use it was full of rocks and roots. I knew that I did not want to manually dig the holes. The box arrived and assembled it in less than a minute. Never mind the printed instructions. Put in the fuel, followed the starting instructions on the machine - fired right up. I realized right away that you cannot force the auger down, you have to take it slow so when it hits a rock or root it won't twist your arm off. I had to us an iron bar to break the rocks and roots loose to where the auger can handle it. I still have more holes to dig and am almost looking forward to it. This machine saved me a lot of work.

Save your back and save time!
Reason for purchase: Purchased this because I wasn’t about to dig 35 post holes by hand and wouldn’t have been able to get everything done in one day. So a rental would have been multiple days and ended up costing more. Product review: thing works great! Starts right up, runs well, and digs great! I live in the upstate SC and we have hard clay with rock. The blade cuts right through the clay and can easily dig a 2’ hole in less than 2 minutes. Highly recommend and would buy again!

Excellent small auger. Did a great job! Took a Saturday morning to do what would have taken a days by hand! Great value.

This is my first post hole auger. I love that it took about 45 seconds to assemble. The auger is very easy to use. If you can start a weed whacked you can use this. As for quality only time will tell. For the price who freaking cares how long it lasts. It is the same cost to rent one to do a whole fence. I have dug about a dozen holes so far with zero issues. I recommend this so far!

Would not recommend. Read other reviews how this was easy to start but wouldn’t start out of the box. Used fresh, high quality gas but would not stay running. Product was delivered the night before my fence project and didn’t get a chance to run it until the morning of. Lost about 1.5 hours of work because I had to drop everything, go back to Home Depot to rent an auger for the day. Returning this ASAP to re coup some money wasted on renting. Wasn’t impressed with the size at all. If you not digging in sandy, loose soil, you probably won’t have much luck.

Great machine for getting holes dug in rapid time. Put down a 300ft fence with 8ft posts in one weekend thanks to this machine. Depending on your dirts hardness, it only takes 10-15 seconds to dig a 3ft hole for fence posts.

Does a great job for me. I'm putting in a 4x4" post fence and need to put 60+ posts 24" deep. Since I own this auger, I don't have to try and get every post hole dug in a one day rental period. I think that also helps the auger since I dig a hole for a few minutes, turn it off, and set the post. This is my first fence so I'm pretty slow about setting posts. Therefore, the auger is only getting used for 1-3 minutes at a time and then has 30 minutes at least to cool off. If I tried to dig 60 posts all at once, I don't know how it would hold up. However, with how I am working it, I haven't had a bit of problems and I've been fairly impressed at it's performance. I'm digging through some pretty rough top soil covering red clay and this tears it up pretty quick. If there are no roots, it'll dig you a 30" deep hole in 30 seconds. Small roots aren't much trouble. I've gone through roots about an inch in diameter or so. Bigger roots, you'll have to stop and get a spade or something to cut it out. But, for what I paid, and the job it's doing, I'd say it's a great deal!
