Q:IS this suitable for as service equipment?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello Blueeyesheather, Yes it is rated as service entrance equipment. Regards, Schneider Electric Customer Care.

by|Jun 9, 2021

A:  Well, it’s rather small but if your service is small and you don’t need more breakers than it holds then yes. A separate box for the meter is needed.

Q:How do you get it open in order to replace the fuse?

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello, The HOM48L125GRB is a main lug load center. It's not a fusible disconnect. There are no fuses in the disconnect. Only main lugs. Regards.

      by|Aug 17, 2020

A:  No offense, but the wording of your question suggests you really should get an electrician to work on it. It uses breakers, not fuses. You unscrew the two silver screws in front to remove the cover.

          Answer This Question

A:  Hello, The HOM48L125GRB can be used as a sub panel. I suggest you check with your local electrician regarding the loading and your application. Regards, Customer Care Center

          by|Aug 15, 2018

A:  You have to focus on the breaker at the house feeding the 6 gauge wire. That breaker protects the wire from burning up. You can put a box at the end that can handle a higher load you just won’t be able to draw more current than the breaker sourcing the run to it. Given the loads you describe it doesn’t sound like you will be able to run them all at the same time, maybe only one at a time, but that is ok if that’s all you want. Hard to know your situation but bigger wire to your shop, barn, and greenhouse would be more convenient because your source breaker could be larger and you could run more. For example my compressor would consume that entire circuit when running. I do have this box and run it as an 80 amp sub panel (2 40 amp breakers)

A great choice for a Hot Tub disconnect
Excellent panel, used for a multi circuit Hot Tub install. Plenty of room, easy to mount, easy to find the correct GFCI breakers, looks good, client is very happy with the end result.
