Unfinished Oak Landing Tread has a 1-1/8 in. thickness in natural, unfinished oak. It can be primed and stained to complement your interior stair design. Perfect trim piece for balconies and stair landings. Designed to be used with 3/4 in. red oak flooring, a groove along the back edge of this landing tread allows the tongue side of hardwood flooring to be inserted, forming a solid joint.

You could sand it throughout its lifetime probably three or four times.
Once installed, you would never know the difference. It’s just how you sleep at night if it matters.
