The 1/2 in. Tectite by Apollo Push-To-Connect cap is the fastest, cleanest and simplest way to cap copper, CPVC, PE-RT and PEX pipe without the use of tools, solder, open flame or glue. Simply insert the pipe to allow the high-strength stainless steel teeth to grip the pipe securely against the specially designed O-ring. Fitting removal and reuse is just as simple using a simple demount clip (sold separately). After assembly, fittings may be rotated for simpler installation in tight spaces. All Tectite by Apollo fittings are approved for use in both potable water and hydronic heating piping systems.

Q:I have cutoff my copper pipe and used this push to connect cap with the insert and reenergized pipes without a leak. I have read in a couple places after this that I was to remove the insert. Should I remove the insert if not leaking?

Answer This Question

A: When connecting a Tectite push fitting to copper pipe, we recommend removing the white insert before connecting the push fitting. The white insert should only remain in the push fitting when using PEX pipe.

A: No, Tectite Push-to-Connect fittings are not approved for use with poly pipe. The Tectite 1 in. Brass Push-to-Connect Cap may be used with Copper, CPVC, PE-RT, or PEX pipe.
