You must know the type of surface to be mounted on(ie:shingle, tile, metal),the rough roof opening size, and what are your desired features on the proposed skylite.the proper package can be assembled by combinding these facts. The Velux is a very good, and easy to install packaged skylite. Hi, I don't know enough about specs to answer this question but Velux customer service has been very helpful every time we've needed them. You definitely have to use the correct kit to keep your warranty!

I would contact Velux directly about which flashing kit will work with the type of roof on which you are working. My roof is shake / cedar shingles and the kit that I purchased was installed by a qualified roofer for my type of roof.

Go with the manufacturer's recommendation. I did and have had no problems.
