Securely connect copper tubes with the 3/4 in. by 1/2 in. ProPress copper reducer. Designed for use with ASTM B88 and B75 copper tubing, this fitting allows for a smooth transition between different tube sizes. Press connections make installing this reducer quick and efficient. Unlike traditional pipe fittings, there’s no need for calibration, flame or heavy equipment. Instead, Viega ProPress copper reducers install in just four easy steps: cut the copper tube to length, remove any burrs and surface imperfections, measure and mark the fitting insertion depth, and use a press tool to connect the Viega ProPress reducer for a secure connection. Smart Connect technology identifies unpressed connections during pressure testing to ensure proper connections the first time and eliminate callbacks. First time using this type of product. So far very impressed. Soldering challenges are eliminated. Can be installed even if a leak is present. Very solid connection once crimped. Tried Shark Bite before but always felt a little uneasy about a catastrophic failure. I have more confidence with the compression fitting. They seem to be more forgiving if the pipe is slightly out of round.
