          Response from VigoroCustomerCareSep 13, 2020
We are very sorry that your lawn was damaged after using Vigoro Southern Weed and Feed. When used according to label instructions the product does not damage grass. While there is a safety factor built into the product, too much product can cause damage. Also, the grass type must be one of the approved types listed on the label. We suggest a watering program of 1/2 inch of water every 2 to 3 days for at least 3 weeks. Most lawns will recover given time. Your feedback is important to us, and we will pass this on to our Quality Assurance Team. We would be interested in discussing this further so that we can learn more about this issue and extend our product guarantee. At your earliest convenience, please contact us and refer to your review to see what can be done. We can be reached at 877-220-3089. Scotts_Vigoro

Terrible Results, Maybe Application Is to Blame
I'm giving this 3 stars simply because I'm not sure what went wrong. The result is terrible, but it's possible that part of it was due to application, so I'm just going to explain exactly how I applied it and let other users decide if they think this will work for them. I calculated and measured out the appropriate amount of product based on the guidelines on the package for the size of my yard. I did use a handheld spreader (which is not recommended) instead of a rolling one because that's all I owned. I applied to a wet yard when no rain was in the forecast. After 24 hours I watered the lawn for 5 or 6 minutes - by hand, not a sprinkler - since it had been mid 90s with no rain all week. I watered again briefly the following evening, and after that, I pretty much just left it alone. We did receive some rain from pop up storms 3-4 days out. The photo attached was taken about a week after application. It's now been 2.5 weeks and it's no better. My lawn was certainly a mishmash of grass and weeds, but huge portions of what it killed was previously good growing grass. However, it seemingly had no effect on the tall skinny weeds (you know, the ones that result in you having to mow your yard in the middle of a drought because somehow they grow 10 times faster than grass even without water). So, in summary, my result was terrible, but I'll take a little of the blame since I used a handheld spreader. If you consider this product, definitely make sure not to deviate from the instructions at all.

Killed several weeds and greened up the lawn
This killed several weeds and greened up the lawn. It does have a problem killing off dichondra (stil working on that). I've had to hand pull a few dandelions and some crab grass, but not as much as in years past. My St. Augustine is now very green and thick with roots extending around 4" into the soil. I'm happy looking out my window at the best lawn on the block.

              Product worked well for me!
I am frankly shocked by these reviews, particularly those that suggest the product has no effect on the growth of the lawn. My home is in a veritable forest. As you can see in the first photo, ten months ago there were huge areas in our lawn with very little grass. Ten months and two applications of Vigoro later, as demonstrated in the second photo (which was taken yesterday, so before the trees have filled in from the winter), we’ve made a lot of progress. This product has done an outstanding job of creating runners that have spread like crazy. We are probably still a year off from having full—complete coverage but as you can see, we’ve made a lot of progress with this product. I’m completely satisfied.

Good product but gone way up in price. Still cheaper than Scotts.

Usually good, haven’t seen results yet.

Applied product on 15 Sep 23 on my Texas suburb lawn. Very even application using my Scott's broadcast spreader. Took about a week for the yard to show a fully deep green color. This may be due to the unseasonable heat this year and the lack of any measurable rainfall. (had to rely on hand watering / in ground sprinkler)

                    Good weed and feed
I used the weed and feed in early spring, and it really helped to knock out the weeds. My yard has a mixture of centipede and Bermuda grass, but there was a lot of clover and sand spurs, too. If you live in the South, you know how painful it is to step on a spur, plus I have dogs, so I needed to protect their feet. This year, I didn't have one sand spur! The fertilizer also helped the grass to grow nice and lush. I plan to use this product every Spring.
