Buyer Beware - Product is not as advertised
Not ALL Fescue as advertised on ALL marketing, 15% bluegrass. No other seedmentioned anywhere on the bag, the HD site or MFG brochure. Exclusively Fescue
Bought for the RTF fescue / ALL Fescue. I made sure there were no other seed types such as KY bluegrass because it does not perform well in the southeast transitional zone and when it does, it requires extensive watering. 15% of this seed is uselss to me and not what I paid for

The blend has changed
I bought this seed last year and it was 60% RTF between 3 cultivars out of 5, but this year there is only 40% RTF from 1 cultivar out of 5 and two of them aren’t even fescue. They’re bluegrass. I specifically wanted all fescue like last time for my shaded back yard. Not happy about it and wish they would disclose what is in the bag before you buy it. I really liked this seed for the price, but it seems like they are cheaping out now.

Only 9.9% RTF seeds!
More expensive then regular fescue seed. Yet it's only 10% of the RTF seed which is advertised all over the bag! Not worth it. Buy regular RTF seed instead of this 10% RTF mix

Turned out great !
Not much to say , planted the seed , added starter fertilizer and Peat moss. Kept soil moist until germination which took about 9 days. Attached is a picture of of the grass before which I killed, Tilled and re-seeded.

So far so good
Planted on 9-28 mostly for over seeding. I had about 5lb left and used in an area around my garden. No peat or straw just a bit of starter fertilizer. On 10-7 it showed a decent sign of growth and endured a really bad downpour. Located in South MI

It’s the best seed! Grows healthy and fast! Fyi if located in dry hot weather make sure to water grass 10 minutes twice a day makes a huge difference in the growth

Faster Delivery than estimated
Ordered on 9/14, received on 9/20. A 25 pound bag with a Scott’s rotary on 10 and it covers right at 5000 square feet. I am over-seeding a MD lawn that’s mostly shade free. Attached is a picture of the seed blend and you can see approximately 60% is RTF.

Seedlings sprouted in about 6 days and have taken off ever since. Hopefully the rhizomes grow as well as advertised and any fill in the few voids created by squirrels digging. Extremely happy with purchase.

I write this just to try to help. I bought water saver bc of reviews. Sparse growth. Then in store, guy recommended Scott’s 4in 1. I had some water saver left so did an experiment. Look for yourself. Both purchased at home depot in East Palo Alto.
