This is a 240v appliance that heats like a 100v appliance. It starts to heat up and then gets limited by the unique element that you see in the photo so that it takes about 10 minutes to boil a quart of water on the large burner. This limited heating may be for extra fire protection but it does not seem to heat up at all under the cabinet so I am not sure what this design flaw is all about. Ours cannot heat hot enough or cook fast enough to satisfy reasonable cooking requirements.

I purchased this item three weeks ago.The product was of poor quality. I received it with the stainless steel top being twisted. At first I thought it was damaged in shipping, but quickly realized it was defective. The frame around the stove top would not sit flush on the counter because it wasn't cut correctly. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Much better than the 120-v model
Compared with the older 120 volts model, this cook top is very fast-heating. Very pleased with the purchase.

Electrical connection overheating!
I have had to make wiring connections twice in the electrical channel because the wire nut melts. This channel gets too hot!
