5.8 cu. ft. Gas Freestanding Range in Black Stainless

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Strongly disliked electric ovens. I converted to gas and selected this Whirlpool range. And as Luther Vandross “Oh my”! This range is awesome! I can get an even temperature for precise cooking. And with the griddle I cook everything on it. Even my bacon cooks flat! I love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased to replace and upgrade from Kenmore. Love the convenience of the hinged grates on the cook top to clean. Just today, baked cookies using the convection feature. They came out beautiful. Very happy with my purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice compact range that converted to propane for my small kitchen. Had some nice little extras including a griddle for the middle. It’s a little tight on top when cooking a large meal but that is not its everyday purpose, so that’s okay. I have always been pleased with whirlpool products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this Whirlpool gas stove because of the flip up grates. Most new stoves have these grates ( up to 3) which need to be removed to clean under them. I am so happy that I chose this model as I can clean everyday with ease! Thank goodness the salesman pointed this out to me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this stove a month. Good looking modernized design. Better features than most. I do not love that the front right burner, used most often is the left knob on the right side of the stove. The grates lift to the left and the right to clean the stove top below and in my configuration they don’t clear the microwave above so they have to be removed every time to clean the top. That disappointed me as it’s step I wish I didn’t have to take. Small space problems. I also don’t love how hard it is to get the stove top below the grates streak free. The coating is weird and this OCD mom hates seeing smear marks. Takes to much effort to buff it to a point where you can’t see smears. The interior oven is beautiful, and I love the convection and no pre-heat for frozen meal features. I also love that the bottom drawer is just enough for storage only/non warming. Overall, happy to have purchased this even though problems mentioned above exist.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hmmmm. This is the story of two ranges, as it all depends on what you are looking for in a range. Range 1 is for the person that doesn't cook, and is only looking for a range to heat food. The oven setting where frozen food can be put into the oven without preheating is nice, but understand your 15 minute pizza will still take 20-25 minutes, as the pre-heat time still needs to be taken into account. Burners work well, and the central burner/griddle works good for cooking bacon and eggs, or warming taco shells or peta bread. Range 2 would be for a person that LIKES to cook and for that person, this range falls short. While the central griddle is great for frying up bacon, etc, you can't also have a pan on the other burners. If you do, the pan on the burner, won't be centered on the burner and thus not cook correctly. Even if you aren't using the center grill, it is very hard to determine if the pan is centered over the burner. The grate on top of the stove, doesn't have any type of demarcation as to where the burner centers are (then again, didn't see this on any of the other ranges we looked at). Also, when you use the burners, not only does the stove top get dirty, but also the grate on the top. Takes twice as long to clean.n't be centered over the burner. The oven is an entirely different issue. The bars in the racks are further apart than any previous range that I've owned. If smaller pans are used (individual loaf pans), it can be difficult to get them centered on the bars (see the picture). The pans are the same size, but look how they fit on the grate. The top pan is on the grate for the new stove, and the bottom picture is on the grate from our old stove (unfortunately it doesn't fit in the new stove). The new range has a new feature to clean the oven using only water. Can't wait to try that, but haven't needed it yet. The "fit and finish" on the new stove, isn't as nice as what I would expect from a range this expensive. The fact that the top grates can be "opened" up for easy cleaning is great, but they not solid on the stove top they wobble a bit). So, the range is okay and does the job. At the same time we purchased this range (our old range just died and HAD to be replaced), we also ordered a new Whirlpool refrigerator (still back ordered a couple months). We've always purchased Whirlpool appliances and have had good results with them. Just hope the refrigerator is impressive, since right now we are really on the fence if we were right in sticking with Whirlpool, or should have tried a different brand. I'll recommend this range for a friend, as most of my friends, don't cook. I would not recommend to a relative, as those are cooks, and they would be disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never realized how poorly the flames came out of my old range. The Whirlpools flame was amazing compared to what I was used too. I used my oven the first time on Christmas Eve, cooking a 15 lb. prime rib roast. WOW! The temperature was right on for the medium rare roast completely to the end. I can’t wait to try the frozen bake.

Very happy with the workings of the stove..but concerned about the quality...I used the griddle on the middle oval burner one time and the silver is coming off exposing a gold color...not sure what to do about it☹️
