A:  Marie4011, There is not a FL approval number for Rated Sheathing. However, it is approved by the Dept. of Commerce. If you go to buildgp.com and request a letter I will send it you.

          A:  It stands for "Rated." The span rating, such as 32/16, will be stamped on the material. It can span 32" if laid horizontally between supports and 16" if laid vertically between supports.

                  Q:I have an old 1930's garage, when painting the garage, the paint only last a couple of years until it starts peeling again. I want to use this 15/32 sheeting to cover the outside garage walls over the existing T&G boards, then prime and paint it.

                  A:  AlDav, We do not recommend using Rated Sheathing is siding as it is not a exterior product. We recommend an exterior grade siding.

                    A:  3145sf is the house. that was a bad help. it depends on the pitch of the roof too... which adds a whole lot more to that square footage...

                      A:  Izzy, Each plywood panel is 32 square feet. If you divide 32 in 3145, you get 98.28. We recommend adding 15 percent to account for installation wastage and 5-percent to account for defective materials.

                        A:  Depends on how you have to cut them.... each plywood is 4x8 or 32 square feet. So reasonably expect to use 10 because of waste.

                            A:  Zeek, If you are on a concrete slab, add at least 6 mil vapor barrier and you may use Rated Sheathing as a shed floor. If your floor will be open to the ground (elements), we recommend using exterior grade plywood.
