Answer This Question

The panel has the the spot for the neutral. As well as the ground. The breaker just handles the hot feed. In this case the red and the black.

TomB2's answer is correct. The breaker will not operate if wired incorrectly.

Yes. It is important to make the load neutral connection to the breaker and not the neutral bus or it will trip.

      By|Feb 2, 2021

Yes, the GFCI breaker has 3 lugs to terminate the 2 hot wires and the neutral wire.

      Answer This Question

Nothing , if it is a sub panel. The neutral and ground are not tied togther after they leave the main disconnect panel.

Remove it and throw it away. A bonding strap is only used when the equipment is used as a service entrance panel.

        Answer This Question

To attach to an earth ground rod.

        By|Aug 18, 2020

There is no ground rod with this panel. A ground rod is a minimum of 8 feet long. Please reword your question and resubmit.

I am no longer using this panel for a hot tub. I am interested in adding 2 single pole 20 amp breakers to this box to now feed an above ground pool and add the other 20 amp for plugs around the deck-is this doable by just adding the 2 20 amp breakers to existing box and running the wires?

          Answer This Question

Yes, no problem. You will need to make sure those circuits are GFCI protected. This is critical. Either install 1 pole 20 amp GFCI breakers or feed a normal breaker into a GFCI receptacle and wire off the load side of the receptacle to protect the circuit.

          By|Feb 2, 2021

Assuming you are removing the 60 amp breaker, and adding 20 amp gfci breakers, and properly encasing or burying the correct size wires, this will do what you want. You have space to add 4 single pole breakers so you can run 4 circuits.

In short, it depends. If you do run the proper wires within a reasonable distance (less than 70 feet from the breaker panel) and the correct breakers, then you can. However, it's always best to go by any other factors with a local electrician in your area. Even if won't go under an inspection, it can and will eventually, so safety and code compliance is key. Answer This Question

Yes, there is a terminal for the "Load" neutral on the GFCI breaker.

The breaker only handles the hot load. The panel takes care of the neutral and ground.

my hot tub will require 4 wires 2 hot a neutral and a ground, most spa disconnects I have seen have a neutral on the breaker but this one does not, is this the right panel or do I need to get another one?

              Answer This Question

The spa needs ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI), and overload protection. These can be combined in one breaker or two, one for the overload protection and one for the GFCI protection.

I found it, the neutral was on the back side of the breaker odd place for it but it is there
