A:  This is strictly a crown mount chimney cap. it has no attachment mechanism for any type of damper system

A:  The bottom of the Cover has a flange with holes that allows you to mount it with concrete screw to the concrete crown of the chimney. For further assistance call Customer Service at 1-800-325-7076.

A:  The stainless steel units are recommended for oil furnace exhaust. The chemicals in the flue gases from oil burning are corrosive and will react with galvanized and aluminum covers destroying them over time. The stainless steel part number is BT1749K10W. A:  The screen to screen dimensions are 14 x 34 + 2 1/2" more for the mounting flanges = 16 1/2" x 36 1/2" out to out. Since the Big Top is secured to the chimney by Tapcon type screws the issue is that the screws may break out the cement crown when you install the screws because they are so close to the outside of the chimney. I recommend you go to a Band Around cover that is custom made for your chimney. This cover attaches to the chimney with a 2" band that tightens up around the outside top row of bricks.
