Q:Can you allow the moist air to go into your attic or do you need to open a hole / vent in your roof for it to exit?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Mekobaby, Thank you for your question on the model ARN70PS1 ventilation fan with light. We always recommend our ventilation fans be ducted directly to the outside. They should not be vented into the attic. The problem with ducting into the attic is that all of the moisture in the air goes onto the wood, insulation, rafters, and ceiling joists, which can lead to mold growth and rot. For these reasons, it is always recommended to duct all fans directly to the outside of the home.

A:  If you have taken off the glass cover and changed the bulbs then you "should be good". There were reviews that said others who bought this unit experience total light failure, like a manufacturing defect. You might want to look at the reviews for that complaint and go from there.

A:  No, this is a bathroom fan so it clears humidity but I would not put it in a wet environment . Check the rating to be sure but I would say NO.

                      Answer This Question

A:  First you need to remove the screw base at the bottom of the glass - make sure you are holding the glass to keep it from falling. There are three clamps along the upper part of the glass - one of these clamps slides out (it has a spring tension holding it). Once you move the clamp out the glass will come out. Again make sure you are holding the glass to keep it from falling. To install - reverse the process - slide the spring clamp open and install the glass making sure the rod that the screw base attaches to is properly centered so it goes through the opening at the bottom of the glass. Screw on the retaining nut.

A:  The AERN100SN bulb can be replaced by removing the shade. First, remove/unscrew the finial nut in the middle. Use caution here. Next slide the shade hook/prong and lower the shade.

A:  Unscrew the nut in the middle, then one of the prongs can slide. Pull the prong and lower the shade.

A:  Had same problem. One of those little hooks that grip over the glass fixture actually slides back. So, unscrew the nut at the center of the glass and find the correct metal hinge that slides back. Then you can work the glass fixture out to clean.

A:  You first need to unscrew the knob in the center of the light. The lamp cover will rest on 3 arms. One of the arms is spring loaded. You'll have to test for which one it is. Pull Back on that arm and you can release the light cover to clean it.
