A:  PVC dimensions are given like this because of the different thickness between schedule 40 vs 80 the inside demension is the same and 1" pvc  pipe will work with 1" fittings schedule 40 bs 80 doesn't even matter for the fit bit for the pressure they can handle respectively. Hope this helps.

A:  It is 1" ID, but any irregularities in the dowel would have e to be sanded.

Q:Does the "SxS" indicate this elbow is "street" on both ends? That would mean both ends are a male connection, which is the same diameter as lengths of 4 inch pipe.

              Answer This Question

A:  "S x S" refers to " Slip (fitting) x Slip (fitting). I.e., not threaded. In plastic fittings this means one will be joining by gluing. In copper or brass plumbing, slip fittings (non-threaded fittings) are soldered - or, in the case of refrigerant lines, brazed. Sometimes in non-ferrous plumbing nomenclature the "S" designation is inferred to mean "sweat" or the designation "SWT" is used for the fitting end type. In ferrous piping, such slip fittings - either socket end or spigot end - would be welded.

                Answer This Question

A:  It may look larger due to the enlarged photo. It is 45 degrees, and we do not produce a 120 degree fitting.

A:  You can use 2 elbows to get any angle you want. To keep it small, use one regular elbow plus one "street" elbow. The small end of the street elbow fits into the regular elbow, avoiding the need for a small piece of pipe between the elbows.
