A: The cord is part number N389354 which is a 6 foot cord.
A: My corded Dewalt orbital sander, Model # DWE6421, does spin and vibrate. If yours dosen't spin that tells me you have a defective unit. Just return it and get a new one that will hopefully work properly.
A: Hello jim10011 Thank you for your contact. We apologize for any trouble or inconvenience with the sander. On this issue, please reach out to DEWALT customer service so that we may work together in order to resolve this issue for you. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. A: The deWalt dwe6421is an orbital sander. It uses sanding disks that attach to the pad on the device via velcro (hook and loop). This is not a belt sander. This is a great sander...until the velcro surface on the pad gets contaminated with sanding debris (how could that happen?!?); then the sanding disks won't adhere to the pad. I used an old toothbrush to clean the pad and that seemed to work. So, if you have this or any other orbital sander that uses sanding disks that adhere via velcro and they won't stick, try cleaning the pad with a brush (stiff nylon bristle or perhaps even a wire bristle).
A: Hello Duke Thank you for your contact. We apologize for any trouble or inconvenience in finding information. The current model number for the belt for the DWE6421 is N430442. Best Regards Sherri C DEWALT
A: This orbital sander takes 5 inch diameter round sandpaper discs with an 8 hole pattern. The discs are backed with a hook and loop material (aka Velcro) that attaches the disc to the bottom of the sander. Diablo is a good brand but there are certainly many others. When you press the sanding disc onto the bottom of the sander try to align the holes as best as possible but don't stress over it. This helps get the dust generated by the sander to be collected in the sander's dust receptacle.
A: 5 inch hook and loop discs.
A: 5 inch round hook and loop paper with dust holes. Choose whatever grit you like. Hope this helps.
A: You can use any type of paper that has Velcro backing. In order for the dust collector to work the sanding sheet would also need to be porous or have holes. Home Depot carries a good selection of sanding sheets for this sander.
A: Hook and loop which is the velcro backed paper
A: the best palm sander ever
A: Yes perfect
A: It is a great little sander and works fine on anything. If the legs are round you might have to do that manually.
A: This is a very good finish sander which will not leave marks. Should work on cleaning teak chairs unless the stains are deep.
A: I bought mine to aand my outdoor Cyprus wood table and chairs and it did a great job the only place that I couldn't sand was in a couple of corners and I did those areas 1st and by hand
A: Yes, although you may need an adapter for hose size. It has a small bag dust catcher.
A: Yes, with the right adapters, you could take off the attached bag and connect that output to a shop vac.
A: yes
A: Yes, I have a Nilfisk shop vac with a hepa filter. The port on this sander was an exact fit with no adjustments required.
A: Yes, you can remove the dust collector bag and inset the shopvac hose, The hose end fits around a collar that the dust collector normally fits around. The hose will then need to be tapped around its neck as the hose will not stay connected on its own.
A: Yes u need to match the holes up on the sander with the sanding paper! If u use the wrong paper the dust will not b collected! It will make a mess for u to clean up!
A: The eight hole disc work better. Home Depot has a 25 pk of one brand for around $8, which work just as well as the Dewalt
A: Yes. Your sander is designed to use 5" (125 mm) sanding discs (H) with an 8-hole dust extraction pattern.
A: hook and loop
A: You should use the 8 hole discs because you need the holes in the discs to line up with the holes in the machine if you want the dust to filter into the dust container. You probably could use a 5 hole disc and just end up with a lot of dust flying around.
A: IMO, yes, with the right grit sanding disk. This sander is strong enough for heavy sanding, but I think used lightly with a small grit pad, it will get polyurethane ready for refinish. Hope this helps.
A: i have used it for a variety of applications including removing 'poly' from furniture and like the results. i would think it would work for a counter top, it would be a function of what type of sandpaper to use (as well as what type of wood it is covering). suggest you go online to find the answer. best to wear: a mask/ear cover/glasses. some dust will 'escape' the filter. good luck
A: No, you cannot use it to sand a polyurethane countertop.
A: I would imagine it is possible, however, regardless of how a fine grit of paper that you use it may still leave minute scratches.
A: Yes, you can if your intent is to remove the paint.
A: I bought discs at the same time, I do not recall if it came with any, sander works very well!
A: Separately.
A: No, all sanding discs must be purchased separately.
A: no discs included in box.
A: Unit does not come with any sanding discs - must be acquired separately
A: No discs, only the sander and carry bag
A: Going off memory I don't believe so. I ended up grabbing a 6 pack set with 220 120 and 80 grit.
A: Purchased separately
A: Yes, it will work great with the right sandpaper!
A: This will work great for a majority of the surfaces but not for any ornate detail. You will most likely have to hand sand those area if there are any. Be sure not to sand in circles if you are staining.
A: Mine works very well on flat a surfaces. I'd say as long as the furniture doesn't have too much grooved detail work, or oddly shaped areas, it should work well. Hoped that helped.
A: Yes, great on FLAT surfaces.
A: It is a great little sander that leaves a smooth finish. Be careful on the edges. I would get an assortment pack of sand paper so you can try different grits. Perhaps start with 120 grit, end up with 400, though I do not know how hard the wood is nor how deeply the stain has soaked in.
A: I'd say yes, this would be good sander for that refinishing job. Start with 80 grit or so paper to get the layer of wood that the stain has penetrated, then go to 120 and finish with 200 or so for a very smooth finish. This size sander can get you into drawers and corners better than a belt sander or other larger sander.
