Answer This Question
A: I did a 1/8 tonal (bone color) grout. It turned out great. Grout has held well 2 years later.

A: We used 1/8" spacers but the lines end up a bit wider. I would recommend 1/16 to get small clean lines; I like to see tile, not grout lines. Also, if you keep them small you can use poly grout rather than sanded for a smooth, clean look.

A: It can, but honestly I think it would be better to pull off the sheetrock and pick up some durrock, perm, or hardiboard along with concrete star screws. Solves the problem of wet sheetrock slipping, and potential future mold issues.

A: We had narrowed down our choice to three different tiles. We purchased a case (smallest lot size you can get) and compared them at home on the walls we were going to tile. This made the choice easy as we used rubber cement to affix enough pieces to really see what it would look like. We returned the two cases we didn’t like and used that credit toward the purchase of the tile we did select. A large outlay for samples, but a good investment to assure you make the right choice. NOTE: we could have returned all three if none of them had the look we wanted.

A: Our local Home Depot had individual tiles we could buy. So, we bought a few and took them home to see how they would look. They are installed in our shower and look gorgeous. A little more beige than white but that is what we wanted.
