A: These registers are rated for light foot-traffic only. I would recommend a heavy duty register if your vent is in the middle of a walkway. Something that is full steel construction.

A: They do not have pre-drilled holes, but the flange is large enough you could drill a hole in each side and put a black head screw in them to attach to floor.

A: They are 1.41 inches deep. For a door vent, I would recommend either an air return grille or a wall and ceiling register, as they have mounting holes for screws.

Q:I have another use for this item. I wanted to use it as a flat vent. Could I just separate that front piece from the box or would it require a grinder which would destroy it

A: Yes, you can easily remove the damper box, which is simply attached to the register faceplate by clicking into 4 tabs.
