A:  It was a package deal when I bought mine. It's really a good quality case and protects the saw and blade/chain when hauling and carrying it.

A:  If you are referring to the chain scabbard, then yes. The carrying case incudes the chain scabbard/cover. This particular case is well designed and it's basic rectangular shape lends itself to storage if/when you need to put other things on top of it - for instance during transport.

A:  Vice President? Idk. I bought this, only thing different from the CS-400 is the case.

A:  It's the Value Pack. It includes the carrying/storing case and the chainsaw.

A:  Value pack. You get the nice case instead of a cardboard box to keep the saw, scrench, extra chains, oil, etc. together.

A:  "VP" is the designation for the Echo 'Value Pack'. It includes the case, lube and saw tool in one package - thus saving the buyer the time, hassle and additional expense of buying these items/necessities separately. Buying them separately is notably more expensive.

A:  The chain saw comes in the case, but you have to install the bar and chain yourself, which only takes a few minutes.

A:  yes. saw ships in the case. with the bar unattached. (you need to attach the bar and install the chain - tools included) the bar cover is removable and has a block that fits there when it is not being used. it fits/ships inside and it ships as a cube well sealed and inside their cardboard packaging
