Answer This Question
A: Yes it can. Be cut. Do not know about concrete attachment.
by|Aug 5, 2020
A: Hi Jessica. Yes, the handrail can be cut to any length using a 40-60 tooth WOOD blade on your circular, miter, or chop saw. Yes, you can connect directly to concrete using the EZA400-HB or a new bracket (EZA275-HB) that is not listed on homedepot.com yet (8/5/20). You can email us at support@ezhandrail.com to review a photo and/or purchase this new adjustable bracket.
Thank you for your question.

Answer This Question
A: Hi LB. There are a couple of options:
1) We have a 16' kit that contains (2) 95.25" handrails and a 5" splice that fits internally to mate the round handrails together. As of 2/25/20 this kit is not available on homedepot.com; however we're working diligently to make it (as well as 12' kits) available in the coming months. In the meantime, please email/call us at support@ezhandrail.com or 573.365.7085 opt. 1 to setup a purchase through your local store (model# EZA16KIT-HB). It is imperative to contact us because store associates will not have proper ordering information.
2) We offer a 24' standalone handrail (no accessories) model #EZA100-HB. You can then cut the handrail to your desired length and insert the endcaps. This is the cleanest look (no seams) and the additional 8' length can be used to make another handrail for a a porch or garage. For this solution you will need:
(1) EZA100-24HB
(4) EZA200-HB
(2) EZA410-HB
Thank you for your timely question.

Q:What is the offset dimension of the mounting bracket, from the wall to the inside of the railing?
by|Feb 5, 2020
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi Thom,
The inside of the handrail is offset 1.5 in. from the wall or substrate the bracket is fastened to. This is required to meet ADA codes and is a comfortable distance for most applications. You can always gain more clearance by mounting the brackets to Rosettes or some other solid decorative blocking that is first attached the studs or structure. It is quite common, especially for highly textured or uneven walls.

Q:Are these hot to the touch in the summer months?

Answer This Question
A: All black metals would be hot to touch exposed to direct summer sun shine heat.
Recipients receiving two of these indoor installed black hand rails never complained about the rails getting hot.

A: I installed them going down to a finished basement so they are not hot for me. They are metal so could be some potential if they are being used outside.
by|Feb 1, 2020
A: Hi Marianne. Yes, these handrails get hot in the summer months. However, they do not get hot like deck metal deck furniture that can get very hot to the touch. The textured powder coat finish is formulated to reduce the heat transfer so the handrails do not get hotter than any other exterior items you are accustomed to using in the summer. Handrail temperature is major testing factor we monitor in both extreme hot and cold environments (Miami and Anchorage).

A: Yes - 1 solid piece - good quality. Easy to install
by|Mar 17, 2021
A: Hi Deborah. Great question and yes this is one solid piece of heavy duty aluminum tubing that we powder coat to an AAMA 2604 spec. Please note as of 12/17/19 this handrail is exactly 96"; however, due to length restrictions being imposed by UPS and Fedex small parcel, the handrail will be 95-1/4" in length in 2020.
Thank you for your consideration.

Q:how do you mount the brackets onto a garage wall with vinyl siding?
by|Nov 12, 2019

Answer This Question
A: Sorry, we mounted our handrsin on the masonry wall. It is rather heavy handrail and should be mounted on the wall through the siding, I think.
by|Nov 14, 2019
A: Vinyl siding are installed to allow for expansion and contraction. Securing hand rail brackets tight against vinyl siding prevents its movement.
Consider attaching the brackets to EZ HandRail Aluminum Posts that are secured to the garage floor.
