Q:How loud is the exhaust fan when heating water?
by|Sep 5, 2022

Answer This Question

A:  Avoid this junk - It isn't very loud, maybe like a kitchen exhaust hood on low. The problem is that it doesn't work. Constantly throws error codes that prevent operation 90% of the time. The few times it does actually run, it can only do a +35 degree change at maybe 1.5 gpm. Not so good when the incoming water supply is 50 in the winter time.

            Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out to is. The i12 LP only comes with the basic horizontal vent kit. However, we have bundled this heater with the complete 3" horizontal and/or vertical vent kit according to you installation plan. I hope this answers your question. If you need anything else, please just let us know anytime. ~Team Eccotemp

            by|May 3, 2023

A:  No, it only comes with a pretty useless little elbow and end pipe. Expect to have to buy a specialized adaptor and vent kit from the same vendor for $300 in order to hook it up for any indoor application.

                  Answer This Question

A:  It is a liquid propane set up, the most amps it will use is 2 amps. The display and igniter is the only power used in this water heater. 15 amp breaker will be good enough.

Q:Is it practical to use the Eccotemp i12 as a preheater to a small point of use water heater to provide immediate and continuous hot water?

                        Answer This Question

A:  Hello there! You can install the i12 before your smaller point of use water heater for continuous hot water, but honestly, you can probably get away with just using the i12 as it is tankless and does not require any time to "pre-heat" water. It heats instantly. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our technical support team via live chat, setting up a call, or creating a support ticket at support.eccotemp.com. Q:I just installed this unit and there is gas to the heater, the igniter is clicking but it wont ignite. There is no gas smell at the exhaust pipe so the solenoid valve must not be working. Suggestions?

A:  Hello there. The Eccotemp i12 is a flow-activated tankless water heater. It is designed to activate at 0.7 gpm. If your gravity fed system could produce a minimum of 0.7 gpm water flow, then this water heater could work for your setup.
