Q:How do you securely attach a 2x6 or 4x4 to this? It is one screw (what type?) or do you use a tie to connect it to the lumber and a frame? What kind of tie?

A: Sorry. I do not know since I did not use them on grass. I used mine mostly on concrete but I have a few on gravel. My guess is that they will settle over time on grass.
