Q:Can I disassemble the valve, to solder a nearby joint so I won’t damage the internal seal, then reassemble once everything is cool? Or will this risk a leak or changing the release pressure setting? I could add a c x f union but don’t have one handy…

Q:Can this be used in the state of Florida on your water heater instead of a expansion tank the code allowed this years ago but I'm not sure if it still does

Q:I bought 659647000418 RELF VALVE and installed it on a new brass tee. The 3/4 inch male end fitted perfect. My question is... what do I have to do with the female open end of the relief valve? Do I leave it open or put a drip valve or what to do?

A: You could connect PVC pipe or a hose to the drain side. You will need to use an appropriate adapter (1/2-in. female threaded) to adapt to your choice of piping or hosing.

A: I would suggest that you attach a pipe to the female open end of the relief valve, then run the pipe to an available drainage site. If the valve is activated, or fails, you want the escaping water to be directed to a deposit site (drain), to minimize the spillage.

A: Where ever you drain it to you should put it where you could see it every day as if you hide it you will not know when it fails

Q:What is the flow rate on this valve at 10%, 15% or 25% over-pressure?

Answer This Question
A: These valves are preset to blow off if pressure exceeds 75 psi on your well system. Flow rate would be determined by size of line and amount of water in well tank. You rate could vary from 6-40 gpm

Q:I have installed two different Everbilt 3/4 x 1/2 relief valves on the home water system. The valve is located downstream of the town pressure reducing valve and my house shut off valve. After installation, both valves have a significant leak out of the discharge. I do not know my house water pressure, but the line feeds plastic water piping for potable water.
Home Depot sold me this valve to install on the house side of the "my" water shut off valve.
Question, can I adjust the valve setting to close off the leak? I am confused, plus loosing significant water.
Thanks

A: Bob,
These valves are only rated at 75PSI and used for water well applications and not city pressure. Please give us a call at 800-346-7611 so we can better understand your needs.

Q:Is the 3/4" brass relief valve an industry standard size for single family home well system. Took dimentions of the valve currently in place, seems like the size meas. 1"?

A: A relief valve is used with well water systems. They are needed to prevent excess build up of pressure between pump and well tank. Most sizes are either 1/2" or 3/4" and the can be applied directly to the tank tee that is available at Home Depot. All are designed to release at 75 PSI. Thanks

A: I have two rentals with wells and my own home is on a well and all use 3/4" pressure relief valves. My neighbor has an industrial irrigation well and it does use a 1 inch but that's not what you normally see (or need) on a residential well with a 3/4 horse and below pump.
