Questions and Answers for Everbilt 3/4 in. x 1 in. x 1/8 in. x 48 in. Aluminum Trim Channel

A:  This c-channel is measured in thickness, 1/16 inch thick.

A:  1/16" thick = 1.58mm thick 15 gauge aluminum is 1.4 mm 14 gauge aluminum is 1.63mm

A:  This application would depend on the t-moulding dimensions and height of the surrounding flooring.

A:  Yes, it can be used for this application. However, a thicker grade is recommended for heavier tables.

A:  Yes it can. I used it to strengthen a shelf on a shelving unit. You must keep in mind the amount of weight you want to support which will determine the C-channel size.

A:  This channel has 1" x 1" outside dimensions with 1/8" thick walls, resulting in 3/4" wide x 7/8" deep inside dimension - see photo. The Everbilt drawing shows the correct outside dimensions, but the profile and other dimesions are wrong. The product listing should have been 1" x 1" x 1/8" aluminum channel. This channel is 6063 aluminum with square sides (see photo) this profile is known as "Architectural". The Everbilt drawing shows a type 6061 aluminum structural channel with a profile known as "American Standard" - note the drawing shows rounded transitions between the legs and bottom.

A:  If you look at the drawing, the 1" measurement is the outside measurement of the channel. The interior measurement is 7/8" - just 1/8" shy of 1". Therefore 1 x 1. Hope that makes sense and is helpful.

A:  their would be a little play

A:  With an interior measurement of .40 inches, there will be additional room in the channel.

A:  This is too small to cover a 1/2 " flex pipe. If the temperature where you live ever gets to freezing or below you wont want to run your pipes outside. they will freeze and break.

A:  Yes this 1/2 x 1/2 x 96 channel can cover outdoor flex pipe. If your flex piping is larger then 1/2 inch OD you can get a larger sized channel from your local The Home Depot or order it online for store or home delivery. I have purchased and been happy with all the different sizes of channel THD offers.

A:  We are unable to recommend using Aluminum C-Channel for this application.

A:  It is aluminum 6063-T5.

A:  6063 is an aluminium alloy, with magnesium and silicon as the alloying elements. The standard controlling its composition is maintained by The Aluminum Association. It has generally good mechanical properties and is heat treatable and weldable 6063-T5 T5 temper 6063 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 140 MPa (20,000 psi) in thicknesses up to 13 millimetres (0.5 in), and 130 MPa (19,000 psi) from 13 mm (0.5 in) thick, and yield strength of at least 97 MPa (14,000 psi) up to 13 millimetres (0.5 in) and 90 MPa (13,000 psi) from13 to 25 mm (0.5 to 1 in). It has elongation of 8%

A:  Welding this is measured on a level of difficulty from 1-4 with 4 being the most difficult. This product is rated a 3 out of 4.

A:  This aluminum is 6063-T5.

A:  A brad nailer cannot be used on the aluminum profiles. We recommend using a hand drill or punching machine to make a hole and secure any nails.
