A:  Thank you for your question. I've never heard of this being done before however it should. Typically it's placed under one of our Jiffy green house kits however it still should work the same. The heat mat is designed to warm the area 10-20°F over ambient temperature (surrounding air) to improve germination. If you need further help don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team at 508.285.5800 and our best to you this season.

A:  If you want your seedlings to be in the best shape, I would get a full-spectrum grow light if you can afford it.

A:  It depends on how much light you are getting through the south window, if it's bright and sunny the seedlings should do fine. If regular house plants are just okay there then seedlings will struggle and be really leggy. I have south windows and it's not enough light by far and so I use grow lights.

A:  It depends how much light that comes in that window I use a regular led light bulb if you dont have a T5 light.

A:  Yes. It's sealed. We've dribbled water all over them every time we check on the seedlings and no problems at all.

A:  I certainly wouldn't submerse it but I've dribbled some water on it and had no problems and of course you can wipe it down with a damp cloth.

A:  Thank you for your question and yes it can get wet however just to be safe would not recommend letting water sit on it for long periods of time or for it to become immersed in water. Our best to you this season!

A:  Warm enough for my seeds to sprout quickly, <1 week with mat, ~1+ weeks without.

A:  It says about 10 degrees above room temperature. To the touch it's just warm, but that's a huge difference for seedlings.
