Q:I’m replacing a GE JS998SOK3 - will I be able to take off that cord and use it on the new range ? Thanks.

Answer This Question
A: Hi there - we’re glad you checked with us! To ensure the performance and safety of the range, we do not recommend reusing the old power cord from your previous range. You will need to separately purchase an UL listed 40 Amp 4-Wire Cord 4’ long or 3-Wire Cord 4’ long. Q:Is this stove rated for use of a canning pot?
by|Jan 11, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi - Thanks for reaching out to us with this great question. Normally, pots that extend beyond one inch of the cooking element's trim ring are not recommended for most surface cooking; however, when canning with a water-bath, pressure canner, or pressure cooker, larger diameter pots may be used. This is because boiling water temperatures (even under pressure) are not harmful to cooktop surfaces surrounding the surface units. We recommend the use of flat-bottomed canners. We do not recommend using large diameter canners or other large diameter pots for frying or boiling foods other than water. We do hope this is helpful and wish you all the best! Vikki@GEAppliances
