Q:The Installation Manual says that this refrigerator need 4" of clearance around the sides and 10" above for venting. I had been planning on putting this fridge in a space with the standard 2-3" behind and above and 1" of clearance on the sides. Dos this fridge REALLY require the 4" around and 10" above? This seems excessive to me.

Answer This Question
A: The recommended air gap is a recommendation to ensure sufficient air flow as the heat from the cooling system is dissipated around the exterior of the fridge. As with all recommendations, the product will work with less air flow, but it may run more often, or feel warmer to the touch than if installed with the recommended spacing.
